LOL, I'm kinda hoping this is one of those production line mistakes that go my way!
From my experience with Capricorn, I would say that you are lucky that you got what you got.
It seems that they have access to a large pile of parts from or at Sirio and that the throw together whatever is on laying around on the bench and sell it as whatever is needed.

I won't go into details, but without my old buddy Uriah, I would have thrown a considerable amount of money out the window.

Only him getting involved, made them even respond to e-mails.

Strange business ethics there.

All of the CL-12ETuned engines have front, and rear ceramic bearings.

The thing is my Cap is only the 12E variety. I remember when I 1st read about this motor it stated front and read ceramic bearing. When I did my usual internet research on it the only site stating it did not have a ceramic rear was the Capricorn site.

Hey Grinder, will you also be carrying that sexy Capricorn 200mm nitro sedan I've been seeing around the web lately? Any idea on price?

George,

No, doesn't look like I'll be going to the Winternat's. I will be running the Texas Biggie at the end of March, the Speedline Grand Prix, which will be sometime this summer hopefully ( Mike's Hobby in Porter, Texas is completely redoing the track) and the 1/10 Gas Nationals later in the year in Lincoln, Nebraska. I'll keep you posted.

Regards,
Daniel

I tend to disagree, having owned a XXX and an EVO4, I personally think Sirio went backwards on the quality when inspecting the internals of both motors before and after breakin - just my opinion.

Not saying that at all.

I broke and ran a XXX and EVO4 about 1 month apart, the XXX must of been one of the first batches as I got it when it came out.

Brand new, the internals of the EVO4 looked better, cleaner, and had a better fit. The XXX had some minor play on the rear bearing, and the cuts on the sleeve were not as clean as the EVO4.

Both were run in and tuned the same way. The pinch after two litres of fuel on the XXX was non-existent. You could turn it over with very litte resistance. The EVO4 is still has excellent pinch with the same amount of fuel.

Again, this is just my opinion comparing the two motors I owned. Maybe it was just a bad motor.

Hi Maddin,

as I purchased directly from Capricorn, I had to sort it out with Alessandro directly as well.
Thanks for you offer though, but my need for Capricorn products has been satisfied for the near future.
