Derek the main difference in powerband is the 5port has a ton of torque and mid range with decent top end, the 7 port has a ton of midrange and top that never seems to end.

The actual difference between the porting is not that great, the 7 port is actaully has 5 intake ports and the port shape and location is the same as the 5 port. The only difference between the porting is the 7 port has a tri exhaust port.

And would the go tech 3 port race be a dog in a truggy? Or would it do just as good if not better then the 5 port and 7

the 3 port kind of falls inbetween the 5 and the 7 port, the 5 port would be better in a truggy follwed by the 3 and then the 7.

Why would the 7 port fall behind, it puts out more power. Anyway so which is better the 3 port or 5 port. Now how do theycompare to the jpx .21

Derek... Get the 5 port for your Truggy.. Or wait for the EB M5 to hit the stores next month... You'll be happy with a 5 port in your Truggy. You mite even hit that 10 min run time, depending on your driving style and tracks you race at.

The 7 port is not the best choice for truggy because you need to take advantage of the wide wheels and traction and you need a engine that puts out a lot of low end power to accelerate hard out of the corners, races are never won on the straighaway always in the infield and judging by the videos the tracks you race on are large but very tight and technical.

If 10 min. is mandatory then I would say .21 5port would be your best bet, but I cannot promise you it will get 10 min. there are many factors it takes to get a car to get 10 min. run times, a lot of things most people don't realize like a free drive train with new or ceramic bearings, a very smooth throttle finger and a restricted engine. Also track surface plays a big role as far as the traction level and if there is a lot of wheelspin, the first track you posted looked a little on the loose side. If you are new to racing I would say getting 10 min. out of any engine will be difficult.

I would also say you will need to get the Go 801 pipe as that will give you the most runtime out of the 5 port.

I also would recommend the 5 port with an 0801 pipe if you are looking for run time. BUT, I have seen many people try to go 10 minutes in a qualifier and it is not worth it, most don't make it and they have a smooth trigger finger and the whole works.

The Go .25 is my favorite truggy motor.

well my modded Go 25 had almost as much bottom as my modded JPX 21...a little more mid for the GO, and the jammin has more RPM.... The Go was pretty awesome IMO, its midrange was killer, almost too much...The Go's are dam nice engines and seem to have better support... The JPX may have a little more pop under the hood, but not enough to worry about IMO, unless your like me and run on a black dirt track, then the Jammin's hard hitting bottom can be properly harnessed... for most track surfaces having too much hit int he bottom will hurt more then help...

thanks guys now i just need to find a pipe, for the go tech .21 5 port? And are they easy to break in and tune? Also will this starter box work? What clutch shoes, springs and fly-wheel?

break in is easy if you've got a heat gun..as a matter of fact heatguns are a must anyway but especially with this motor as it has probably the most metal pinch of any motor i've attempted to break in, that starterbox would work but the truggy start box though more expensive would work better, i ran mine on a losi and i ran silver springs(don't remember the spring rate but I think those are 1.1's) motor had loads of power bottom to top, tune isn't hard but keep in mind you can be running it lean and have cool temps so check that bottom otherwise you'll be blowing plugs like I did, as for a pipe the go pipe is probably best. I personally ran an os 2050 with excellent results,on the flip side i've read good results using dynamite 053mr's or 086's

hope this helps
