May he Rest In Peace . I watched his YouTube videos almost every day. I loved his engine reviews and had a few Novarossi 28’s and Roma’s that I was going to send to him for modding. Sounds like he was surrounded by family and friends and was doing something he enjoyed when he left this place. I’ll pray for him and his family.

Wow I’m so sorry to hear the bad news. I never met Rex but I watch his videos on YouTube religiously and the man was a wealth of information and the hobby will deff be the worse without him. This almost same thing happen to my family not to long ago with my father in law. Our prayers are with the Welch family. Rest In Peace my nitro brother!!

Rip 22racer. Over the years we have ran across each other on the forums a few times, he also was someone on here I always read what he would would write. I’m happy to hear he lived a full life, had a few kids and someone who loved him. That’s a successful life.

It was so sad hearing this news - I've had the pleasure of working with Rex for a few years. He made me a high mileage buggy engine and a screaming top end GT engine, and with both I was amazed with his knowledge. Through our hundreds of over-seas e-mails I learnt a ton, and I can only imagine how much more I'd learn had I had the chance of meeting him in person. Through his videos, some of you had the experience to learn as well, but I can guarantee it was only a drop in an ocean of his knowledge and passion for nitro engines. He was a lovely man, willing to help and invested in his customers happiness and success. R.I.P. Rex, you will be missed and thank you for everything

I've been watching the RW Mods engine review videos and wanted to ask if someone could help explaining how to interpret the timming numbers that Rex always shows at the end of his reviews or provide a link were I can find such info? How can one understand if an off road engine is good or powerfull enough for 8th scale nitro based in Rex's timming numbers?

A good reading: Gordon Jenning's Archivek
And keep in mind this is a sports engine, it is put on the market as a decent but no high performance engine so I have seen in its timings
