Hi! I was wondering if I could use a OS P4 glow plug for my MacStar .28? or should I go for colder one?

Ohhhh, its getting colder day by day here. Today it was 7°C. I am using 25% Merlin nitro fuel and am pretty new at tuning.

Hello Robisss,

If the outside temp is 7ºC, then You should choose P3.

Cheers..

I am already running P3. The thing is that, there is no Hobbyshops in Latvia. I can only order from Lithuania and the hottest one they had was P4. Third world country problems.

Yes, it is possible! I already searched on ebay and found some P3's. 4x P3 was around 44€. Only problem is the shipping, usually it takes 2 months for a package to come to Latvia during this pandemic thing. I also have some questions about fuel since am new to nitro.
I am using Merlin Expert fuel with 10% oil. It says that its synthetic and castor blend. Will 10% be enough for long engine life? Or should I look at optifuel 20% Nitro and 15% synthetic. Opti and Merlin are only available fuels here.

25% nitro 10% oil is plenty for lubrication. It’s all about the proper tune and not being lean and over heating.
I run 30% nitro 8% oil(synthetic/castor blend) and have engines with over 6 gallons that still run flawlessly and when opened after running all parts are well lubricated.

Thank you! Then I will stick with Merlin. I am running rich since its cold here so everything should be fine.
