Go-Tech Engines Thread

Hey Guys just some Up Grade and tips tricks info for your go engine , firstly some basic Dyno results.
The R Spec on its 5th tank with 7 mm restrictor is putting out 1.8 hp at the wheels , Modified was putting out 2.2 HP at the wheels ! These things do not produce max power till they get to the 5 litre mark so we are anticipating close to 2.7 Stock and up to 3 HP Modified at the wheels ! thats about >5 less than the flywheel rating so thats good grunt !
We will be doing runs with the 5 and 7 ports as soon as we get our exhaust fan working again !
Max HP was produced with the Go 2047 pipe Max Torque was produced with the LRP 2063 pipe
We also had the OCM race team at NSW Titles on the weekend with the Go 5 and 7 port racing and the guys gave it the big thumbs up ! They did what i told them to do , Run it at 140 Deg c and remove the restrictor all together !
Result was Tons of power , same fuel economy ! There is something i doscovered in the Go carb thats really interesting that allows you to run max carb intake with same economy !
if you have any further questions on Go up grades and tech tips please do not hesitate

I totally agree I run my Go's between 130-140 and got well over 30 ltrs on my first 7 port before changing bearings and rod and it still has great compression.
Just wondering whether you where running the standard headers for the pipes for the dyno tests.
Iv'e found that using a RB 98mm header with the 2047 makes the bottom end feel a lot stronger with out noticibly losing the top end especially on the 7pt. unfortunately I don't have a dyno to back it up. Is there any chance you may be able to have a look at it for us

Snookums, It sounds like your engine is breaking in the top end, so your needle setting were fine but now the metal pinch is going away. I would guess that the engine is going fat and splashing out your plug, thats causing the flameouts and misfires. Lean it a couple hours on top and see how it runs, but keep an eye on the temps so its not too hot.

Yeah Mark even with your old Fuel i ran my Go Tech at 135ish and it produced awsome power. Worst part about it was the clueless idiots telling me its too hot and i was gonna blow my engine up.
I had run it a few time at 140+ but didnt gain much, anything under 120 and it was doggy.
Go Tech`s love the heat and thrive on it, i usualy leave my temp gun in my tool box and tune by ear.
Might try some of your new improved fuel soon.
Deanos car seems to run pretty strong using it.

I'm glad i'm not the only one getting some hot temps on Go engines, mine has 20 tanks through and temps always were between 240 to 270 F, sometimes even higher and I was getting a little scared because of high temps but I guess this is how Go engines run, now I leave my temp gun in the tool box too, it leaves a nice trail of smoke and I'm running 18% of oil content so I guess i'm fine.

i have a go tech 3 port and just broke in and raced my 7 port this weekend and my motors are running at 200-220 and making good power!! Are you guys not making any power at this temp just wondering why you have to run it a little warm?? In fact i had to fatten up my 7 port to try and calm it down a little,at 240 it was to much.
