Has any one acheived a FDR ratio of around 3.0 with or without the 18t pulleys
with 64pitch gears,
if so what size spur and pinion did you use?
also i will need to go up and down from 3.0fdr ratio so if there is room for the motor to go both ways in the mount this would be even better......
cheers

A while back someone posted a link to a gear chart in which the gear combinations that meshed were highlighted. I tried searching this thread but no luck. Anyone have that link handy?
This is going to be my last post on this now crappy website. I couldn't get on to any threads yesterday. If I'm bored and feel like waiting I might try to log on. So for any info Scotty and I have from our testing you can find me on rcracing.com The better info is on here but what good is it if you can't get on to view it. I was going to test this weekend but it looks like rain so I will just wait yet another week before I break out the Novak powered Cyclone
Where are you guys talking at? Stupid rain ruins all the fun!
By next practice day, My 3PK super, and FASST set up should be here, and my new servo I hope

Shoot for a 3.5 FD for the 17.5 motor and a 4.0-4.5 for your 13.5 motor.

Hopefully the "updated" Cyclone will address the problem with gear ratio. I don't know how guys are going to get to where they need to be with the 17.5even with the new pulleys. We shouldn't have to run pinions as big as the spurs!
STLNST, sorry to see you go but don't blame you, this site has turned to crap over night.

3.0 FD is pretty mucn impossible, I just don't see it happening as going to 3.5 is enough of a challenge. By switching to 18t pulley's and longer belts you drop half a point on your FD so its a must.
Shoot for a 3.5 FD for the 17.5 motor and a 4.0-4.5 for your 13.5 motor.

it is probably here somewhere but I could not find it, I would like to know what center pulleys are needed and new belts to lower the ratio of the car?
thanks

though by the looks of the 76, it doesnt look like it will fit into the adapter but who knows. Regardless, with a 87 spur from Spedtech and the 65t pinion from Precision, the FDR ends up being 3.26
anyone know if this will physically fit in the Cyclone? Wondering and thinking it will is great, but whether it can actually take a pinion that big....heh...anyone?
Hi all,
Just getting back in racing again and picked up a MooreSpeed Cyclone and got a few questions.
The car has alloy Jet knuckles, c hubs and rear up rights on it, and I'm wondering what people thing of these (whether there likely to bend etc). Should I stick with these or put the standard composite parts on?
Also, can anyone recomend a spring set for the car, or failing the the springs that I'm most likely to need for tuning etc?
Cheers, and thanks for the help

Well for one your name is crashmaster...so I would stick with the aluminum
Anyways I only use aluminum c-hubs, steering knuckles, and rear hub carriers on all my cyclones. They look trick, they stay true, there super stiff, and there awsome! Keepem.

I personally dont use aluminium parts but the jet racing ones should be decent if you break a lot of parts when driving. I find 3 racing aluminium to be relatively weak (but cheap).
Personally Im a pretty ordinary driver but ive barely broken anything racing a lot of 19T and 5 cell mod (although im also not a very aggressive driver).
