BTW has anyone tried the square wide plastic bumper?

I bought the plastic plate but its huge compared to the stock (foam) bumper which fits over it. The stock bumper only just pokes out in a couple of places so it is effectively useless?
Wondering if i should bother forking out more cash to buy the square foam bumper which should go with it? As the p-dub bumpers are expensive to order into Aus one-off with the international shipping charge

Also i dont know if they still make them but has anyone tried the square titanium pro 4 wheel axles or cross joints?
Or has anyone tried the wheel axles with the standard HPI universal rebuild kit/HB unis.
I remember they were really expensive but im wondering if they are any lighter and if they are durable enuff to consider trying to find a pair to test?

Didnt you say you were smashing arms? Thats really odd you arent ripping apart the aluminium CVDs. They are fine on the rear but unless you are running a ball diff on the front you must have been blessed with some mighty strong aluminium.

Pretty much you HAVE to have 18t pulley's and the longer belts. Use a 47t pinion gear and a 78t spur gear. That will give you 3.6 FD, good luck finding that spur!

I'll assume your running a 17.5 motor?

nah im not running 17.5...not yet at least. Im holding onto 13.5 as long as i can. Was wonderin just for reference.

With the longer belts and bigger pulleys, what does the internal diff ratio end up being? I wanna do some calculations because it sounds like all that + switching to 48 pitch may do the trick.

Someone said it was 2.16 a few pages back.
It is possible to get a 66T spur and 41T pitch in 48 pitch and if that is right it will just get you to that FDR.

But Im really wondering if the 13.5 is too fast for ya and youre trying to rev out a rock crawler motor :P

ive raced 13.5 before already, used a 10.5 for the HPI Challenge a few days ago. The speed was well within my capabilities. Just sayin the 17.5 has a recommended FDR of 3.5 and the internal ratios of only a few cars (TC5, JRXS-R, Xray T2 series) are able to accomodate that with ease. The Cyclone, unluckily for me, cant accomodate that easily, but i have no reason to switch to 17.5 anytime soon as my local club races will be allowing 13.5 in the stock class for another few months.

im the one with the cheetah lanyard

I should have given that guy a ticket for hitting me like that :P

i get a final drive ratio of about 3.65 with a spur of 60 and a pinion of 40. it *JUST* fits could do with dremmeling it a tad but it meshes ok. this is on 48dp so if you could find a 42t pinion or something along those lines you should be ok.

This is going to be my last post on this now crappy website. I couldn't get on to any threads yesterday. If I'm bored and feel like waiting I might try to log on. So for any info Scotty and I have from our testing you can find me on rcracing.com The better info is on here but what good is it if you can't get on to view it. I was going to test this weekend but it looks like rain so I will just wait yet another week before I break out the Novak powered Cyclone
