3 Port Go Tech - -
Guys,
I ran the Go 3 Port this past Sat. at the TN State Championship. The engine is a great "indoor, tight track" 1/8th motor at any level, or a stout budget motor for the begginner at any track. I had a 10th place overall finish, with the motor running impressively all night without having to touch the needles.
Set up -
Go Tech Sport 3 port
Turbo Button
Race Carb (Set up is close to the new production Race 3 port)
8 mm Restrictor
OD 77T plug
1.1 Springs / Purple Ofna Clutches
Dynamite 053 Pipe

kamlooper - Yes, I ran the composite carb. off of the 5 or 7 race engine. I have not heard of any trouble with the aluminum. I was wanting to get comfortable with the new 3 port we have coming and it was a very similar engine.
Restrictor - 8 mm is what I ran. After a 5 min qaulifier I came in with a little under 1/2 tank in my buggy. I was good for 8 to 9 min easy. I also feel you can make the 10 min mark with a 7mm or 6mm.

That's what I'm hoping for. I'm only seeing about 6 minutes out of my .28 right now. The carb inserts are on their way so I'll get to test those out and also I'm going to play with different clutch bells and spur gears. When the .28 dies I was hoping to replace it with a .25 and be able to get roughly 9 or 10 minutes out of it. If I can see 8 minute tanks with the .28 on my track I'd be really happy.

I haven't actually tried timing my run times yet but I know for my first race I tried pitting every 6 minutes or so. I've run around the track with a fellow 8T owner that has a vspec and we went for what seemed like a lot longer than 6 minutes before filling up. I'll get a stop watch out once I get the carb inserts and see how long I can go. 8 minutes or more would be awesome, can't complain about that.
