I went Mugen; they have gone from HPI (Racer/Racer 2) to Serpent (Impulse) to Mugen (MTX2) to Associated to HPI (R40) to Serpent (Impulse Pro) to Mugen (MTX3) to Serpent (705 & 710) Trinity/Team Magic (G4) to Kyosho (V one RR) to Mugen (MTX4) to Serpent (720) to Kyosho (V one RRR) to Xray. I am not even going to get into their engine purchases (which can total the price of buying a good used real car!!!). Many of them just switched to Xray after all the hype and for many, like you said, the car did nothing for their lack of driving skills. Like you, I try to stay within my budget and what is working for me. Once it stops working, then I will change to something else.
that was well said and just the same up here.
always run mugen (tried others for a short time then went back to mugen)and now motors keep trying different ones then sell them if they havent blown up.
run the ninja and its fine but i am thinking it is not as fast as a nova but is a good $
so can we say now nova or nothing again
wait and see.

Another flees the coo-koo's nest...

http://www.redrc.net/category/racing

Since you still all support the engine here, I got a c-note for any Mugen Factory Team driver that runs a Ninja for qualifiers and in their main at the WinterNat's..... and finishes.

I see you're all dumping them on ebay.... LOL ......

GRP engines ( & Ninja series) will now be distributed by Horizon Hobbies. I heard Mugen is now chosing JP Racing for there engine line up.

Weird. I always thought Ninja was the enginebrand from Mugen like Mega is from Serpent. If so then it is very strainge if the brand goes on but sepperated from Mugen.
But it is an interesting devellopment, hopefully the upcomming Neurnberg Toyfair will bring a light on the changing engine market and its drivers.

Horizon Hobbies is already listing the Ninja engines and Mugen parts, but they're on B.O. and will not be available till January. I assume they're getting whats left of Ninja maybe and then switching into the GRP series with the orange head. Hopefully soon, since spare parts are now scarce.

Not pointing the finger on anyone, just thinking out loud.
All of you?...
You can find opinions in this thread, telling the opposite about this engine, or atleast placing question marks....
But then you get flamed...

Sorry but this is not true. Yes Horizon is the new importer of the GRP brand but the Ninja name is owned by Mugen Seiki. Horizon has always bought the Ninja engine from Mugen Seiki from day one.

So what's up with parts and is the Ninja series dead or just moving the name to another engine line up like Mega did with nova & picco? Everybody is out of stock on piston/sleeves for the Ninja offroad engine. Mugen racing, amain, & carolina's are all out of stock. Will the GRP engines be the same parts or not. This engine line is a PITA to get parts for.

I am sure the GRP parts will work with the Ninja engines, And as far as Ninja only time will tell.

Well, it could be a choice. OS did show a good performance at the worlds and when the CRF .21 project is finished the Kyosho drivers like Shimo can be forced driving with it and so OS has no binding with any brand car which means a dedicated engine to Mugen.
