I looked through the thread and went down to the 2 LHS and niether of them could find it on there losi break downs. I tried to support my local shops first. I also tried to look it up on losi parts break down and couldnt find the part#. I dont buy rc stuff online nor will I even look at the online stores because they dont support or build the local rc tracks. So shake your head at that.

Always willing to prove a point...I just went to Losi's site and typed in "slider receiver". Boom... http://www.losi.com/Search/Default.a...lider+receiver . I guarantee it took less time to do so than it took to type your original post.
I think it's GREAT that you support your LHS but you indicated no such bias in your original query. In fact you indicated you'd been looking at some "online break downs".
And before you jump up on your "mail-order" soapbox you should know that Bob Stormer is a GREAT friend of his local racing program...ours. We couldn't ask for more support, especially from a busy man who still takes time out of his schedule to make the 8 hour round trip (in good weather...more if it's snowy/icy like today) to race toy cars with us and share ideas on how to improve our racing program. He usually buys entries in classes that he and his crew aren't seriously competing in too...all to help a small club survive/thrive. He also takes that same supportive attitude to tracks throughout the region and beyond racing pretty much all types of RC cars. He's also the first to encourage people to shop with their LHS...but you need to understand that for many of us who aren't living in a major metro area Stormer really IS our LHS.
Something to think about.

The new Tekin speedos have a better BEC that actually supplies more current and maintains voltage better. A weaker BEC actually causes less problems. It is not a voltage supply issue. It is a voltage stability issue at the receiverdue to current surges. Larger current equals larger ripple on the 6v line.
The G11 does not have a regulated BEC which allows it to supply all the current that is asked for. IN the 90's this was the best BEC available until servos started drawing huge current.... which we supply to our own demise until it literally melts the solder in the esc and basd things happen. All new Tekin speedos have a very good regulated BEC.

Has anyone done the m8/m11 antenna mod with the pro module? I've looked around and only saw it done with the older module. Is there anything different? Can it be done the same way?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Keep in mind that the job IS significantly different between the M8 and the M11. All the online instructions (that I've seen anyway) are for the M8 and it's pretty much a no-brainer. The M11, though it looks like it shoud be a pretty similar job, is an entirely different kettle of fish. I sent mine to one of the guys on here who does 'em rather than risk a $250-300 transmitter. I wouldn't hesitate to do M8's all day long.

I have a couple m8's.... and your right, most of the mods I've seen are m8's with the older module. My ? is really about the pro module. Wasn't sure if there was any difference.
Thanks for the fast reply.

I ran the new dx3r last week. It feels really nice and light. The throttle has two spring rates on the trigger. It is softer on throttle and stiffer for the brakes. It makes it easier for me to control the car when braking. It may not have all the gadgets some of the others do , but it has the things you need.

do the spektrum voltage protector's have a limited life? I've had one for a year and just today it looked like i was getting some glitching. i should also mention that it has a slite dent on the side of it. could this also have something to do with it? the wierd thing is, the dent has been there a while.
anyway has anyone had to replace there voltage protector?

The Horizon site says Mid-January. I dont think much is missing, Spektrum really did their homework with this thing, very easy to use and it might even have a few features that others don't. it's pretty dialed IMO.
