From the original shimming included with the motor, you must remove .1mm of shims

Default Pipes

How will the Picco pipe #51900 work with the JL RD? Is the 2607 the very best pipe for this mill? tia

The PICCO 2607 pipe definitely is the best pipe for the JL Red Dot engine, don't forget that the Skyline VR 12 Plus also works great with this engine as well as other .12 engines.

Yes the Mega cooling head will fit the JL Red Dot.

I have read this entire thread and the engine sounds like its worth a try. I have a Novarossi RS12 right now and think its time to upgrade.
My HARD shark pipe has saved me countless times from pipe breakage because of the really heavy duty stinger. I am in my second year of nitro and coming off the straight into the right sweeper, I hit the boards mostly on the left side. Will this pipe be ok for the red dot?

This engine runs best with the PICCO 2607 pipe, the IDM 2617 or the Skyline VR 12 Plus, I believe nobody tried using the Hard shark pipe with the Red Dot yet, but you can be the first one.

I ordered one from Kamikaze online today. Cant wait to start running it
I ordered a few plugs and exhaust gaskets as well. Out lhs is kinda lacking and dont want to be stuck without proper plugs or gaskets.
I picked up an Ofna X12 pipe locally last week, I think it will be better than my hard shark pipe.

You can try the X12 Ofna pipe, but if it is not up to par then at least get the Skyline VR 12 Plus pipe set to get the full potential of the engine.
