Hey guys, I just picked up the red dot through my lhs. I am a bit concerned though. It appears the sleeve does not sink even with the top part of the engine. It appears at least 1/2 of the rim of the sleeve sticks out and you can see it between the top of the engine and the head. Is this normal for the engine? I do not want to try and force it down. Thanks for your help

Ive seen some motors do this. Its apparently normal. I dont like it though , but just as long as dirt and such doesnt get down around the sleeve thats when I dont like it.

Also what temps are these motors pulling when tuned. Just so I got an idea?

It is normal for the sleeve to be above the engine case.

Ok great, Thanks Has anyone tried the rdlogics turbo II with the engine yet? Will the standard nova rossi plugs or os plugs work with this engine.

Ok, guess I should have read more into the thread prior to purchase. I am on a learning curve, never ran picco before. Are there other brands like Ofna or Mega, plugs the same since they are picco based engines or do I have to look for strictly picco plug?

It will run but it will tune erratic. In my experience it would go rich to lean then rich again.

It will also leak when using another plug other than PICCO plug.

I need help deciding between the jlr red dot and a os tz 5 port. If pipes, fuel, and setup etc....are all equal, how do these engines stack up against each other on acceleration and top speed. I can get either of these brand new for 170, just having trouble deciding which. I know the tz 5 port is outlaw, but the only track I run club races at allows anything that is .12. There are a few tz 3 and 5 ports at my track, along with some sirio's and novarossi. I would like to be the only one with the jlr red-dot at my track. What do you all think?

Sometimes it's good to be different. The results so far proves the JLR is not only an awesome motor, but it's priced a lot less than the other motors that are overpriced. Kudos to Picco for making a big comeback! I have two motors myself, but there is always room for more.

Hey chuck, you think you're gonna make it down to Floyd this sun for warm ups? I think I'll be going there myself.

Hi, not ready yet, car is all disassembled and will stat reconstruction tomorrow. I should be ready to go next week. I loved my CRF blazing fast, when working the fastest at the track. but had problems with humidity.
