just to update, got 7 tanks in my new nova, 4 from my mate in modelshop

still having a nightmare of a time starting the engine, just really not fun
sometimes it starts fine (1 in 20 times mayb, mayb even 40 times)

my mate saids it might be my starter box thats causing me the problem (thunder tiger)

starter box just spins it, and then piston gets stuck at the top, then starter box wheel just spins and burns up rubber

just wanted to no wot starter boxes u guys use??

mat

EDIT: straight after i wrote this, i started it after 2 attempts , there is a god

I use the Team Magic low profile box, I think its called the Alpha 5. I have found that the higher voltage of the 2 stick packs seems to work better on tight motors.

I use the Mugen starter box, hardly bogs when breaking in a new engine

Use 2 7.2volt packs in series to the starter box and doesn't matter what you crank it... never bogs.

The best design for starter box is flat bed design ( like Mugen or Q-World Pink Color ). You put less stress on the chassis during starting.

hey guys, im gettin to the end of my break in process
my engine just seems to rev really low even at full throttle
does that point to an obvious sign of being too rich????

thanks in advance

Revs low compared to what? I would say my ls based motor peaks out somewhere between 6-8K less than my CRF motor but with all the extra torq it achieves comperable power AND I can be gear it for any track.

I would suggest putting it on the track and test it out, its better to leave it a bit fat at the top then burn it up.

sup guys, i was wanting to hear some feed back on the novarossi 12+3. i was told i would have to relearn throttle control with this motor, is it really that strong. and also which rossi 12 has the longest stroke, or makes the most bottom end. thanks

its like a LL3 but better and ya way much power clutch setup and throttle control is needed.

we are using the Tuned version at the worlds and they are very fast they keep up with the sirios and crf engines, its a LL3 based engine with different porting. much faster throttle resoponse. but same at the end of the straight as a LL3 tuned.

I have been running a MF12 Mosmo (ls3 tuned) and just picked up a tuned ll3, can anyone tell me how the powerband between these 2 motors differs?

Thanks,
Mark
