I got 3 o-rings in my TRF shock. Don’t think it’s good idea to put 4 o-rings because you can’t get any droop. You will need short springs.

well, installed the trf shocks on the mini. shes got smooooooth travel now! but i had to rotate the preload rings all the way up. the arms are level with the chassis, but i cant "soften" the springs up any more..

so perhaps i do need them short springs.

cursed, more money to spend. lol

Read the thread over the last few pages. It explains most of the information you need, especially the link to the Tamiya USA site about set up. It saves the same information being repeated again.

What the heck this thread doing in page3.
Can anybody recommend what tyre to run @ Windsor? I’m going to run Meca this weekend but I’ve never run my mini there before.

Hiroshi ... I was at Windsor today. I tried Shimizus and they gripped up well. Only question will be will they be fast enough against the 60D tyres? I didn't have 60D Type A with me but had some older 60D radials (treaded). They were not bad but didn't turn in hard enough

Smile Windsor TYRES

I have experimented with both Pits,(with just foam insert) and HPI X pattern radials, (with standard foam insert) and they both worked fine at Windsor. I have also used the M chassis slicks unbelted, (fitted with Tamiya firm moulded insert) this pushed through the corners however I was running HPI X-pattern rears. I am going to try M chassis slicks rear and see if push is reduced.

I have just finished making up a set of the RP30 tyres with hard moulded HPI insert front and soft moulded HPI insert rear, which I will be testing before Sunday.

I have tried a set of 60D's however car tends to lose speed on the tighter sections of the track, especially if you are running the silver can with the plastic fan. This is faster than the Tamiya sport tuned motor.

Hope this helps.

Calvin.

Caltech1, i was just wondering when you say moulded inserts are they actually mini inserts or touring car inserts cut down? And if they are moulded inserts for mini tires where are you getting them from???
Thanks, Mangoman

There have 3 compounds for Pit Shimizu treaded and another 3 for mini slick.
Which one are you talking about??
mangoman HPI makes one parts No:4652 for hard inserts.
I forgot No for soft inserts.
