I use the manifold that came with the pipe. I didnt know if they have a short or long version.
I think it will be good to test a Longer manifold for shorter track

if you say so. by the way, how do you determine if an engine is a long stroke or a short stoke ?

Think of the area the piston moves in as a box. Now if the pin is set on the crankshaft in such a way that the piston moves the same distance as its diameter this is the box.

Now, if you move the pin closer to the centerline of the crankshaft from this position for the box the piston moves up and down a shorter distance than its diameter and is referred to as a shortstroke. The opposite referring to a longstroke.

ok, i measured the distance between the crank pin and the center of the crank on cranks from a MT12 and a MR12, they are the same. so what makes the MT12 a long stroke and the MR12 a short stroke ?

The stroke is the same... one has a longer rod (MT). The longer rod motor the sleve sits on the deck of the crankcase on the short rod motors (MR) the sleve is reccessed into the carnkcase.

Sorry, but that's not correct.

The MT12 was a long ROD engine, not a long stroke.

It has the same stroke than the MR12, RS12 S and the N12LS.

If you take the cooling head off a MT12, you'll see that the entire sleeve sits on top of the crankcase and not flush. The rod is longer the same amount.

The only long stroke engines from NR are the RR12L3 (5) and the N12LL3 (5) and now the Plus 12-3

Long stroke means, that the stroke is longer than the bore

Hey Chris and Edrwad, just wanna thank you guys again for the reliable products and great advices all along! The LRP Nitro Masters Malaysia was held yesterday, of which I managed to finally give myself a first ever proper race to savour.

I was using an old BRB set in a Max(of which I inherited from "Cow Buster" if you guys remember him), I did brought along a NEWLY run-in BRB set and was worrying that the old set would gave way. But the old set didn't skip a single beat, was losing a lil bit power in my first heat due to too lean a high-end tuning, richened the top a bit for the next 2 heats and the power was good! Just managed to squeeze myself into the A-main filling up the last slot, a very tasty icing on top of the cake in my first ever race! Too bad the A-main race got rained out, but nevertheless, looking at how many gallons the set had been fed thru, I'm 100% happy with the set's performance.

Go Palmaris!

yeah. thanks. I was thinking it was a long stroke. Been a few years since I saw one. All I remembered was that it was longer something than the rest of the nova based engines at the time and the BRB set didnt fit in it.
