just threw the evo2 back in since i popped the mega at qld titles... i must have got a crapy carby with my evo2... as it was my first nitro motor i put the crappy tuning down to inexperiance at the time (even tho i'm still no tuning guru lol)... but with the sirio carb it lean idles to the hilt no matter what you do... even now after i have pulled it all aparts sealed the entire motor and carb and reset to factory settings etc... wack another companies carb on and motor purrs fine....

my evo2 motor has great track speed... but after all the crank pins with the WCR edition and carb problem i have had personally with my own sirio... and now the snapped cranks in the new evo3's sort of puts me off wanting to buy one even with how bad i want to try one... seems like getting one thats decent unless your a team drivers is like winning the lotto

surely someone else has a more happy story?

hey i hve one in my rrr amazing display of power,the crank snapping problem does anyone if the guys that hve snapped cranks,modded them before they put on the track ,or is the engine box stock.the evo3 is ballistic box stock.it seens if they snap like that ,wouldn,t that mean when modded the crank could be unbalance, or they cut to much off of the crank.Just wondering.

I highly suggest Josh Cyrul breakin mothed.an also no problems with carb.if anyone has carb problems here in fla. we just drop a novarossi carb in .an there ends your carb problem.

I have heard a lot of people snapping their cranks all being pretty new and stock. I on the other hand haven't had problems with over 5 gallons through the motor and it still has good compression. I followed the break in method on the Sirio website to the "T".

I almost always use a Novarossi 6f plug and sometimes use the 7f at big tracks. I tried using an 8 but the motor was too hard to tune and low end punch suffered. I have never blown a plug on this motor either.

A lot of people like to run the Skyline VR 12 pipe. It seems to provide the motor with a more broad power band yet still having a marginal impact on top speed.

Peter did you shim your motor? I run my Evo3 5 port here in Taiwan w/ 25% nitro and did not add any shims. It blew a few plugs but it's been okay after broken in. I've been using 8f with no problem.

Im really hanging to try an Evo 3 because i know that they are just ballistic! Im really turned off Sirio now unless they really do something about the quality of thier components e.g. carbs and crankshafts. If they get these two issues sorted, i'd replace every engine i have with an Evo 3.

My Sirio S12 WCR has still not been returned even after 4 months frankly I'm starting to get very p***ed off, when are they going to give us some f***ing news on whats going on I have sent them many e-mails and still with no reply

Sorry for cursing but you can understand my frustration

Very sorry to those who are waiting for their S12 WCR crankshafts. We have been pounding the factory to send the new cranks, to which they tell us that they are unhappy with the new cranks that they made and so are taking their time to make a good crank that will not break. No body wants to see anymore broken cranks.

None the less I must apologise on their behalf, at least for the Australian territory. And I do apologise personally to all my customers who also have had problems with other Sirio engines, we are trying to iron out these issues one at a time.

As for the T3 Crankshafts, I cannot get anymore information from them concerning this as the factory is on Holidays till the end of the month. However I will do my best next month to find out what the problem is and what they are doing to fix this. Knowing the factory they would already be on the case

It is true, Sirio engines are not perfect, and Andrea Rossi will be the first to admit it. But for a young company of only 3 years, you must admit they are doing pretty damn good. Lets all hope that it doenst take too long for them to fix their quality controll issues (and design better carbs).

Yesterday was a disappointing day at practice. I own an EVO2 TUP and the engine has been holding up well. As for my EVO3 S12 T3I, I had about 3/4 of a gallon into it and so far have blew 1 Sirio and 5 Rossi plugs. Yesterday, driving the engine at around 220F (3rd tank) during practice, the crankshaft broke in 1/2. Will the crankshaft be replaced free of charge due to manufacture defects?

Join the broken crank crowd Wendell. A crowd none of us want to be part of!!! What is enormously frustrating is Sirio's NON DIRECT RESPONSE to this situation!! Good grief do they think people will come back and buy more of there products?? $230.00 for a motor isn't pocket change for most. Time to look for manufacturer's that actually have some kind of customer service, and that actually acknowledge that you even exist. Can you imagine going to a local store and buying a $230.00 Microwave, suit of clothes or whatever and having the store people look at you like you where the invisible man??

Between my brother and I, we've own 5 Sirio engines. So far everything is fine except for my EVO3. If the service from Sirio is as you discribed, I will not consider buying another engine from them. Not being responsible about the products you sell is not the way to do business here.

Got a little upset this morning, so I just ordered a JP full optioned. Hope this engine is as good as people say.

Went home and double check on the Piston and Sleeve and found out there were a lot of scatches caused by the metal particals formed by the crankshaft breakage. This engine is not even worth rebuilding anymore.

I have a Sirio EVO II engine. I got it when I purchased an R40 that was already built. It has a threaded shaft that has been cut so that it would work. Does anyone know if the shaft can be replaced with an SG shaft and if so, where I might be able to purchase the parts needed.
