That is using the 58t spur gear, and a Hot Racing 17t pinion gear.

Shredded the front right tyre to the point the foam is showing through...
What do you guys like for replacement Wheels & Tyres on these now?
Stay with stock - or something better available?

What kind of surface are you running on?

I run mine mostly on Concrete, and I find 1/10th scale Contact Foam Tires are the fastest. I run them on new asphalt every once in a while and they seriously hook up, though they can chunk out when it's hot. I first tried some Duratrax street tires, and they work for bashing, but I did break the drive cup out of one of the wheels sliding into a sand stone flower bed wall! So my fault, but most 12mm Hex drive wheels will fit the Reflex, but I had to make some 1mm shims to keep the Contact Foams wheel from rubbing the hubs. I used 1mm sheet lexan to cut out some hex spacers.

Default Motor and esc ???

Can anyone tell me if this would work. I'm just getting back into the hobby to mess around and am getting a reflex 14b. Will this combo suffice, or will it be not enough?

you would probably be better off with the Reedy 280-SL4 4500, and the Hobbywing Quicrun 16BL30.
On another note, I've jumped ship to LC Racing's EMB-1HK, Their kit includes a servo, pinion gears, wheel hex drives with set screws, and swaybars. And most importantly, a bag with spare hardware.

Were you able to get this motor to work, if so, what pinion did you end up using?

Just built running chassis so just about to fit. But just realised the kit pinion does not fit the motor shaft.

Do anyone know if I need to run the fan with this or can I leave off? Seems rather high in height ESC plus fan.
