Just bought a new CRC F1 car. I was looking at tires... For outdoor asphalt, are the Volante tires pretty good? I was looking at the CRC tires, but Im not sure how long they will live racing outdoors. What are your thoughts? Thanks ahead of time.

They can work good at some tracks. Best thing to do is check what the top 3 local fast guys run. They have 'been there done that' as far as tire testing goes.

Running CRC wtf1 ds, CRC tires. Have problems on back straight at our track. Indoor black carpet medium size. When going full throttle (slowly) the rear of the car gets really loose and wants power slide left & right. Not having this issue on the short shoot straights to much just the longer back stretch.. Any reason or solution for this. Thanks.

Sounds like your diff. Do you have it locked up? Id rebuild it and make sure you don't have any issues there. Check and make sure you dont have any tweak in the pod. Then look at softening up your center spring, droop. and ride height.

GT CRUSING

One common theme for Carpet track loss of control on a straight is when a layout is changed. Particularly when the direction of a straight away is reversed. It doesn't matter how good your car was dialed in the previous layout, on a green track for carpet F1 rubber cars will have no control. Your best bet if that is case is to wait until Touring Cars have grooved in the track. This is because carpet fibers have to align in the direction that the cars send it.

Sometimes even on a grooved high grip carpet track, most drivers stay in the middle on a long straight and the outers sides of the straight never get grooved in. If you drive over those un grooved straights, it will pull your car in, sort of crooked steering even though it is centered on your remote. In those cases, you’ll really want to stick towards the center of the straights as you will lose time counter steering on un grooved sections

Another scenario for crooked steering on a straight is if your rear tires are coming unglued. You should be checking the if the tires are properly glued before saucing them for your next run always for carpet

Also other thing it could be is the bearings on the rear axle. Sometimes you can have a damaged bearing that still spins. If you remove the axle and spin the bearing with your fingers and feel or hear a crunching sound, that bearing is toast. Especially since most carpet tracks are narrow and filled with walls you can hit. My tip is to always pull off when you have a medium carpet wall hit, except for racing, you keep going until it cant no more or you finish

First attempt at an F1 livery, was expensive to use the decals from overseas with postage costs etc... so I managed to find a local who makes decals for a Lego F1 ferrari, turned out pretty good
