So, I have a question regarding the DIY server PSU and making it a 12v power supply for charging needs. I have it fully working gor 12v with no problems, I just can't find the pinout for the dps 1200-fb to solder in a usb port. I know you can buy the one from RL power, but I'm cheap. Has anyone soldered in a usb port to their power supply? Does anyone have the RL power supply with usb attached to see the pinout for it? Pictures would be great.

I am guessing he just uses something like
(any automotive USB charger should work) I don't think most server power supplies have a 5v rail. At least not one exposed to the external pins.

USB isn't 12v volts though. To solder a USB connector directly to the PS would only work if he can find a 5v rail / solder point or use a module like I linked.
FWIW he clearly said he had the 12v portion working already. So I am sure he doesn't need the guide you linked.

Years ago I added USB to the HP power supply with an E Bay aftermarket 12V to USB convertor - something like this one - https://www.ebay.com/itm/23434376255...0AAOSwg7tfBr6B - I think the one I got was smaller, and it fit inside the PS. There are lots of cool options on Amazon as well.
Lately I prefer to us a power distribution board like this one - https://www.rcjuice.com/skyrc-power-...ion-board.html - I actually got a ProTek one, but I can't find it on AMain anymore.

You are correct, I have the 12v rails working going to the charger itself. I was trying to get the pinout for finding the 5v rail/pin on the power supply. I do like the board version that converts everything if you have a spike in voltage..... probably just going to go that route. Thanks!

Most of the "rc powersupplies" are USED server parts with 3d printed parts, stickers and a 12v to usb converter.
I took apart a damaged RL power supply (it was dropped) and this was the usb adapter on it. Expensive stuff for sure.

How about this:
Link to RCgroups
It doesn't seem that this power supply has a dedicated 5V rail, although there supposed to be some pins with 4,8V, according to the pinout pdf file attached.

And even if there is a 5v connection to use you need to do more than only connecting the power to a USB plug
USB charging without fear
