Question on servo horns. I know they sell an aluminum one.. Kid has a generic protek one that came with his 160tbl servo and it seems to be fine.

Any reason to change it out for the Tekno one dimensionally?

The Tekno servo horn has offset to clear the front bulkhead brace. You could probably use spacers to achieve the same thing but the Tekno part is nice.

I figured as much. I was surprised that my kid's worked with the generic servo horn. Figured I would check to see before I spent more money.

Next question. Prostar one piece top plate for an ET being run on carpet with foams? It'd be more rigid, Not sure if good or bad.

Carpet with foam tires is probably like driving on Velcro lol. I'd try it with the brace. No experience with those conditions just my 2¢

Where did you get foam tires and what model?

A plastic servo horn will strip out. That is why people switch to alum servo horns.

Interesting. An aftermarket part or custom?

Just something I pieced together from a Traxxas 2444 turnbuckle set (67mm center to center), with a more standard ball insert on one end (insert from a 1942 kit). 3x32mm screw at the rear, 3x18mm screws at the front, and a few washers and nylock nut.

Now that I’ve done it that way, I’d recommend just getting the Traxxas 1942 ball end kit and whatever 3mm turnbuckles to get you to ~67mm CtC length (perhaps ~50mm TBs).

Some guys were talking about running thier et's on the carpet. I pulled mine out to take a look. Needs total rebuild after using it on an eighth scale track all summer. Have a small list of parts to get it ready. Figured I'd use the same tires I use for my t6.2 swagger fronts and pin down rears.

There's a pretty healthy class here on carpet. Most run foams for longevity and to reduce some of the traction rolling issues.

Do they trim those foams during day? Where to buy such size?
