im just over 83 on rollout, running a trinity 17.5 1s motor. Tire diameter about 42mm. It just gets pretty hot in a 6 min race

If your rotor is dying, losing magnetic strength, the motor will still run but it will get hot, even if you gear down. This happened to me with a Trinity motor some years ago.

Ok thanks. I’ll try another motor. Any brand I should stay away from for the 1s class?

What do you consider hot--- what's the temp. I run fans but not all the time. When I do I have it pulling the air out .As for a weak rotor you can always just replace the rotor.

it was way to hot after a six minute practice run, like 220’s. It felt like it had a decent magnet still Turing it by hand but I haven’t run it again. I pulled it out and set it aside. Haven’t put another motor in yet.

I did not catch what motor you were running? But 220 is way to hot - I don't run that class (GT!2-21.5). I would also check your timing (45-48 degrees) then your gear ratio and tire size. Also check you gear mesh. I only run Trinity motors and batteries

I think the ultimate would be to:
- have a rear pod like the CRC - easy to adjust ride height.
- have a pivot like the new XRAY 2021 - metal and delrin(I think) - the R6 is pretty good but over time I think the composite pivot will wear too much.
- have a Xenon front end that fits the R5 (what I use now) and with one piece shims for ride height like several brands use - allows you to just loosen the front screws and slide the adjuster shim in.
- have an adjustable front servo mount like the Xray (and others)
- have a decent shock like the CRC or Xray.
- have a rubber O ring to hold the battery on (like most brands do now)
- have a choice of aluminum or Carbon chassis.
I like these options because of durability, ease of setup and overall performance

Any modern battery suggestions for running t bar chassis? Might even be interested in 2S to keep it simple. Not for racing, just for kicks.
Thanks in advance!
