WE NOW HAVE AN INDOOR ON ROAD TRACK IN MESA AZ - The old J.C Penny's home store in the Superstition Springs mall (not the regular JC Penny's that is still there). North East side of the mall, near Ulta and the Cheesecake Factory. Racing starts this Saturday (17 July) at 10 am - doors open at 8 am. See the ASR facebook page for more details.

I would recommend a used car, something you don't mind getting scratched up, because it will be scarred.

eBay or the For Sale section may be a good source.

Hi guys, I am running a Xray 2020 X12, outdoor asphalt, medium to low grip.

I am testing using a gear diff for the first time, and am finding forward traction on corner exit to be a problem. Has anyone had any success with the gear diff on asphalt?

Diff: 7k
Tyres: Fr Ulti J med, R Ulti Z Soft
Springs: Side and middle are kit, fronts are 375181 Silver ( one grade heavier than stock )

Thinking either a lighter rear spring or perhaps lighter diff oil?

Hi guys,
So I purchased a 2020 x12 last indoor season, I thought the front was very well made however the shim system in the rear is a pain.
I was told I could swap rear pods with a better design from another brand, any recommendations?

Many thanks

I still have a X12 '20 in my arsenal. I found the pain was worse when you try to change the shims on the rear pod with both hubs on the axle.
A simple technique that made my life so much easier was to remove the Left Rear Hub (one single screw that clamps the axle) and slide the axle out of the pod.
Everything is still intact and you can quickly and less painfully change the shims under the axle/bearing carriers.
Then, just make sure you slide the axle back into the pod before you tighten everything up.

Fat500--- CRC CK25 ! Parts easy to get espcially if I'm around. Run GT12 it's fun and very competitive and the most popular 1/12th class in Florida.

Default 1/12 overheating

I recently started racing 1/12 onroad 17.5. I’ve raced for years prior but not on black carpet... never before had a heat issue. But now on the black carpet it’s a little different story.. that being said others are running pretty much same gear, same rollout(different brand motor) and there temps are getting hot to(to much for me to be ok with). I’ve seen a few cars now (not locally) that have a fan on the back of the pod. I’m sure the air movement will help forsure ... so there any negative effects besides little more rear weight. Or a better idea to help cool it down a little without breaking the bank.. I’ve heard there is a motor out there that runs a lot cooler but doesn’t really have a can to it so it dissipates heat a lot better. Any suggestions

Newer spec motors are all higher RPM than previous generations. When before you could run a 17.5 rollout of 90-100mm, now 80 is generally a good starting point.
