Tamiya TT02 Thread

Yeah, I saw that this morning. Already ordered a TT02R during the sale on Monday. Tempted to get another, but I think I'll hold off if the sales are this frequent. Actually looking at the Mini-Z since I don't own any of those yet.

I'm all about 1/10 Cars / Racing but I have to admit, if you are thinking about a Mr03 Mini Z grab one! I had a proper Foam mini z track set up in the basement for a few months and ran it kit form with bearings & a pinion swap & it was awesome. Got softer tires after that and enjoyed it until I sold everything. Some folks can't get over the price but once you rip it a few times it will be money worth spent imo.

I think it says they will have more in stock this month. You might be able to purchase one for the sale price and have it back ordered. They also have another Mini-z McClaren for $129 and if you're a super saver member you can get $20 off a hundred or more purchase.

At our local track I had started the push for our TT02 Spec class just as a entry level have fun no super seriousness class. Just nice to offer someone new coming to the track a NEW car kit for under $150 that has a motor, esc, body & shoot even the stock tires work. I always just practiced with mine as I didn't feel right racing it as I wanted others to enjoy! Since then it went from Box stock with bearings to our guys wanting the hop ups but still using the TBL02 Esc / Silver or black cans.
In stock form these TT02's impress me much, I have had 2-3 over time and now mine Currently has some budget mods for TQ practice fun lol (last pic as of the other day)

With the TT-02FT Landfreeder release, anyone try to figure out if Tamiya will make the plastic TT02 inner cover able to purchase separately? Any part number floating around?
We sometimes run a TT02 rally class and it would be perfect to use the cover.

It's unfortunate you guys allowed all the Hop ups. Not really a spec class anymore. New people now no longer only spend $150. In Kingston we were hoping to race these things with you guys but our club allows bearings and CV axles only. This has kept the cost down and everyone has the same car.
