Only one I'd take exception to would be the M410....pretty sure that's more a TC body than anything else....

You are correct, the M410 is a TC body.

Also, as a side note, a body nobody talks about that meets the more standard sports car list is the McAllister Jaguar XKR. That is an excellent body.

We race on mondays during a car meet ... at least until corona shut it down. To encourage real bodies that the public recognises on the track we run min weight based on body choice ... RC-Spec Class Rules

Mopar,
I had thought about a weight "rewards" system depending on the body. Looks like you are a step ahead.

They had to add the two mini 21.5 so they started 1st and 2nd. I was trying to figure it out, looked like a datsun..?

It looks like it might be a Datsun Sunny, but I'm not sure. I know ABC Hobby makes/made a bunch of Nissan/Datsun shells.

Allowing the supercar and supercar-esk body’s is what has allowed the class to keep going, especially with the demise of HPI a few years ago. Yes it’s “back” but the licensing isn’t and good luck getting your hands on one of those bodies. Even Tamiya bodies have little to no stock, or are priced to the moon. A handful of companies stepped in to fill a void with some exotics instead of a 1997 Lexus IS300 or even a 2015 Subi. Why??? Because 🤮 that’s why.

If you ran only the bodies that are reasonably available, priced, AND real/licensed, you’d really only be running one of 3 PF bodies (guess what, one is a supercar, another is dang close), and a couple other randoms here and there to include Tamiya.
RCGT rules allowed either HPI and Tamiya bodies. Correct that HPI disappeared but Tamiya did not. Prior to Covid Tamiya did not have any supply / inventory issues. Like many, they have crates of product sitting in containers at long beach port waiting to be received by undermanned port authority.

Additionally Tamiyas body sets at full retail cost $50 hardly to the moon. Most shops sell them at 20-30% off retail, which places them at $35-40. So if you’re paying $50 / full retail, you need to work on finding better deals 😉

Tamiya body sets also include highly detailed decal sponsorship and high quality window mask, ABS moulded mirrors and wing. All of which are licenced.

I recently picked up a Montech RSGT3 for $40 and a PF 69 Camaro $35. while the PF Camaro is licensed, the Montech is not. So $40 is priced to the moon for a knockoff. Their decal sheets graphic are absolute crap, no window trim details. So I’m designing my own which costs more $.. but that’s my choice

Here are prices of some other look alike bodies
1. Bitty Design 720 $33
2. Exotek J zero $32
3. Venom $29
4. Montech EB1 and Super Trofeo $34

So were talking about a difference of $3-$8 for a fully licensed body that comes with a decal sheet designed using high quality vector graphics, ABS parts tree versus bodies that looks like a road going car, with a graphic sheet drawn by a 10 year old.

I still don't understand why the Zooracing would not be allowed, it is a look-alike, from Aston Martin Valhalla, which is qualified as supercar. Plus it seems really efficient on track.

Hey everyone, new to on-road and am looking to get into the USGT class. I have found a used TC7.2 but I am a little wary of buying it because AE pulled out of on-road...

Would this be a terrible idea? Can you still find parts for these at all???
