First to get all the goodies as usual, Tom

Just picked up a 419XR kit this weekend, after reading through the positive comments on this thread and hearing about the release of the XR aluminum chassis. Perfect for the local black carpet track.

The holes for the battery mounts make the alu chassis seem much narrower than the carbon one. I also wonder if the top deck is now wider around the spur pulley area to avoid the need for sanding?

Yes Tamiya Germany is really fast in releasing all announced Hop Ups.

@rc_square24: I compared the aluminium lower deck with the stock one and they have the same shape except the area behind the motor. The aluminium is more narrow in this area. Finish is beautiful, like a sandblasted surface and edges are champfered.

Upper deck has exactly the same shape as the stock one, but i never had a problem with a rubbing pulley in my 419XR, only in my old 419X, because the gap is generally bigger as in the old 419X.

Is there anywhere overseas, Germany or other, that has this chassis and will ship to the US? Tamiya USA still claims they won't have this until April.

I have ordered from them twice in the last couple of months. They took 3-4 days to ship, but I got both orders with no problems.

Just got the XR. Is there any other way to hold the battery other than tape?

If you're worried about weight you could also use the PSM TB Evo 7 versions which are the same goeometry but a lot lighter
