That said I would still get aluminum shock caps, aluminum horn, titanium turnbuckles/shock standoffs.
I would also say the carbon center diff cap/fan mount but only because I dont like the side fan placement of the stock setup.

Not sure what everyone else experience was during their build but I thought the shock caps were perfect this time. All of the plastic shock caps went on as smooth as butter...night and day compared to when I built my EB410. I guess if you are on your lid a lot then aluminum shock caps could be necessary, but personally I see no need for aluminum ones until the stock ones fail IMO.
What are others' thoughts on the ET410 shock caps?

From reports they have made some of the old parts stronger and all around better on the et410. So I probably wouldn't even bother with a front camber plate/bulkhead saver since the chassis update up front is essentially its own bulkhead reinforcement.

FWIW there's a guy at Leisure Hours running a 5.5 indoors, and no temp issues I've heard of (Granted, I don't know what gearing he's using). Something in the 5.5-7.5 range seems very fitting. Comparing to a wheeler, the same motor is noticeably slower pushing all that tire/wheel mass.

plan on grabbing one of these for my son to race. As far as electronics I was looking at the hobby star motors 7.5 to 8.5 pared wit a hobbywing xr10 esc would this work? Or should I get a 10.5 motor? My son is 7. any recommendations is appreciated.

Tate13, I would suggest checking what others are running at the local track. If you son wants to start racing you will want him to have the proper motor for the class. The two tracks I run on here in Dallas and OK both have limited the stock ET class to 10.5 motors.

When I eventually get my truck, I'll likely get a 10.5 and try it, even if it's still open motor.

I've posted several running videos on my page and the ET410 FB group if you haven't seen them hopefully the link below will work. The truck has been a blast so far.
