These economics do not justify running ST tires on turf when given the freedom of choice
I personally ran Jconcepts tires on my vehicle for all my practice and race sessions.

Maybe an option for your area while you wait for what you feel is a good turf tire is to get an agreement with your racers on one particular tire that has good wear characteristics and is a stadium truck tire. Mind you, this doesn't need to be a turf specific tire either.

We've tried the following:

JConcepts - Good performer but wears way too fast
Schumacher - Maybe a little faster than JC, but also wear fast
ProLine - Not quite as fast as the other 2 brands but offer the longest wear

So long as I make the A Main, I'm fine with running a more economical tire, this allows me to afford to race more classes, and the more classes I run helps increase head count for the program... if turnout is high enough, I have been known to run as many as 4 classes at times

I want to start racing and this truck seems perfect as I love 4WD. I already own 3 other 1/10 4wd truck but this one is awesome, cant wait.
Also how are folks liking the new Futaba radios you guy got in?
Which 1/10 4WD trucks do u have if u don't mind sharing?
I'm getting a tekno for my son and will be looking for truck for myself to practice with him if they are good enough

Your dead on with tire description. I went with proline holeshots and calibers for just a little better wear. JC faster running tire but wear WAY to fast as you said. And your that guy, 4 classes. I know that guy. Lol. Almost done with my truggy. Paint should be this weekend. 😊

+1 on the above comment. They should have Tekin Gen3, Hobbywing and Reedy for 10.5 motors in stock. For ESCs, probably HW Pro or Tekin RSX in stock. Make sure you’re following SDRC Raceway on Facebook and/or Instagram, Travis and his staff are usually pretty good at posting updates daily, sometimes multiple times a day.

Travis posted tonight’s mini-truggy race, looks like at least 7 on the track tonight. Was running open with 10.5 down to 6.5 for 2-pole motors along with some 4-pole motors. Winner was running a 10.5 so it is definitely competitive at SDRC. Might be different story if a huge wide open outdoor track instead.

Just to clarify, I always marshal for every class I race, this summer has been a little slow, but there are times when our club will see 100+ entries for regular club racing with as many as 12+ heats which make for a LONG day... I came to race, not watch everyone else race... I like to keep myself busy so if I'm not doing maintenance on my 1/8 cars, then I'll bring all my 1/10 cars to get into a race/marshal/race setup... makes the day go quick

I try to bring my 1/10 cars to perform maintenance on them when racing on the 1/8 track... because of the way they eff up the structure for nitros, I'm limited to running only 2 electric classes on that track regardless of turnout

Screenshot of the FB live vid from last night’s race at SDRC. It’s a Pro-line C10 Stampede body. Nice job Matt! It’s RC, gotta throw some fun in there.

For those interested in seeing a couple laps of the ET410 on turf driven by the 2018 National Champion Tekno driver Tyler Hooks:

We had some fun trying to find a pinion gear for Tyler's truck... the on-site shop only had 32p pinions with 5mm bore and no pinion sleeves... so I scavenged through my pit box and found a 32p pinion that was dated back to 1984 from my old gold pan RC10, ha!

I decided to go with the Xray XT2 body cut down. I think it looks really nice. I did have to get creative with the front body mount. I moved one mount to the center and added some foam on the inside of the body to keep it from rocking side to side. The first run was great with body.

What are you guys doing with rear droop at 108 and springs being way short? Am i doing something wrong? Ive reduced droop to 105 and there still loose with ride height at 27mm.

Thanks for bringing the question to the table, because I too was curious what others were doing? I posted a pic of my rear springs at stock settings. I did adjust the ride height to 29mm and they almost fit perfect then, but still little play between the perch and the collar.

Who needs a motor and esc when it looks that SIK WITH SLICKS!.

Tekno said go ahead and reduce droop in rear if needed for spring. The spring will settle and break in time.

Aluminum shock caps, aluminum center diff upright, proper attention paid to what length screws go in the wheel hex. LOL. Vrp gamechanger pistons are awesome sauce in the buggy shocks.
