Mine should be here tomorrow, still unsure on what motor, as i’m keeping to a budget, seen the Savox and TrackStar 6.5t motors are reasonably priced, also looking at running the quicrun bl120 sensored esc

Caught a bit of tonight’s mini-truggy main at SDRC. There was only one ET410 running with Pro4s and 2WD STs and SCTs. It’s the blue one being run by the owner of RC Speed Secrets. He TQ’d and finished 2nd behind a Pro4 by only a few seconds after some bobbles early on. Think he was running a 7.5T.

Here’s a Facebook comment from the owner of SDRC in response to a question regarding the reasoning behind separating into a 10.5 Spec and Mod class:

Because.... At my track we have 4 heats of 4wheel buggy some nights (usually during winter)

We have a huge separation of drivers and lots of them don't want to run with guys who get paid to race RC cars

Also...we pre-ordered 42 ET410 kits for our shop

Hope that helps you understand why we will have a 10.5 and Mod class

Main thing though is go with whatever works for your area.
the reason i say go with a mod class first is that it's cheaper. people won't have to go out and buy ceramic bearings, titanium screws, titanium turnbuckles, plastic diff gears, batteries, etc. i know, i know, "you don't have to buy those to be competitive". save it. if you're a racer and have enough disposable income, we'll buy it to keep up. if you go mod first, just strap the mod motor in (or boosted 10.5) and go and if there turns out to be enough people to support spec and mod, then do it.

no, actually it doesn't.
if people don't run to run with pros, that is easily solved by having a pro and intermediate class.

Unfortunately have seen where plenty of default mod classes end up as far as turnout versus ones with a stock class ... and turnout ultimately is what matters. so save that .

Is there any running video on this car? Not the race video that is posted earlier in this thread...that is not what I'm talking about...

Still can't find the answer to this question.

Will the HW Xerun SCT Pro fit? Some say yes others say no. Tekno page says you can use SCT ESCs but others say the SCT Pro is too big? Why say it fits SCT ESCs except one of the most common ones out there?

You can most likely fit it (I haven't tried personally) if you find somewhere else to put your rx and possibly your transponder. It eats up all the room in front of the motor.

it technically will fit but you have to be a master at wire management and placement because the amount of room with that ESC would probably be just a few millimeters. I really dont recommend that speedo for this chassis. I would get either Tekins RSX or Hobbywings xr10 pro 160a. Or the v3.1 of you can find it for sale.

What I told our local track owners was do not force the class into spec vs mod. Start out open. Build the class and let it evolve. Not everyone lives in Cali or the other hotbeds where you can get 4 heats of 4wd buggy every week, so I think that the way to ensure the class grows is to just leave it grow naturally. Trust me, the racers will speak up. Once there's enough, they will definitely gravitate one direction or the other....

10.5 seems like it would be underpowered but I guess time will tell with them
