Tekno RC ET410 Thread
#243
SDRC is making 10.5 the motor for spec class. San Diego is becoming Tekno Town (but both AE and TLR have plenty of loyal supporters) so assuming there will probably be enough support eventually to run both an Expert and Sportsman class like the EB (which sometimes gets multiple heats per class). Though it will probably take away from the momentum that 2WD truck had. If not enough for a separate open class, they’ll probably run with the experts. Or it’s just going to be spec and open classes.

For Spec racing they settled on 10.5 so it will be faster than 13.5 wheeler. What I’ve heard is it’s a way to help separate those who might not be able to control the power (like myself) as well as others. If you want to put in a stupid fast motor, nobody will stop you, go crazy with a Pro4, you’ll just have to run in the Open class.

ordered through the shop at the local track in my area... so far only 2 of us on the list through the shop, but I think 4 more local Tekno team drivers are gonna be running the class too so we should have enough entries for a dedicated class, at least on a semi-regular basis when the local pros are in town

IMO it's a mistake to try and do both mod and spec with a new class/vehicle. i would advise to just go mod and those that hope there will be enough for a spec class can run a 10.5 and boost it. if there is enough to support both classes after a couple months, then split it up.

UNLESS eb410 is setup correctly, the motor gets hot in 13.5 class
I wonder how warm a boosted 10.5 would be after 10 minute main for SPEC class? It has bigger tires and a little more weight than the buggy.
and the Tekin Pro motor setup would be the most efficient in dual drive correct? For sure that is a mod motor setup.
I think it is a mod type of class but I could be SO wrong!
Tekin's equipment is hands down, superior!

Main thing though is go with whatever works for your area.

I have seen the posts about these at SDRC with the 10.5 spec class. Looks and sounds seriously fun..
Time and money are not currently on my side or I would try and jump in on this. I haven't been able to make it to the track for over a month as is..
LIFE WHY YOU DO ME WRONG???
- naw I have a great life but it doesn't allow a lot of time for RC.
