Default 4port vs 7port

Can any REAL engine person tell me what's the difference between Novarossi's 4 port and 7port? And why O.S is so powerful with 3 ports?

Because the amount of ports is less important than port and crankshaft timings. The engine is made with the timings.

In case of Novarossi most of the time the amount of ports goes equal up with the price and performance determed by their timings.

I am not a REAL engine person, but from the messurements i have done for the past 10 years, OS is timing their engines very hard compared to NOVA.

Port size, shape, and dwell (timing) are huge factors as well as crank inlet size/dwell and crank bore which also plays a big role.

Thanks. Seems like the Mito is being phased out. I am running Nitropro which has always been great. The bearings in the Mito don’t seem to last.

Lately, I’ve been running the Mantra and it’s been really good in feel and fuel mileage. I hope to get some decent life out of it like my other Novas. I’m coming up on 3 gallons, so it’s broken in and so far it’s running great. We’ll see how long it lasts. I’ll also order a Rolling soon to see how it performs in my truck.

I'm using a Bonito piston/sleeve and con rod in my Mito 7. Not the Bonito crankshaft. Seems to be working ok

The Mito has the offset carb, the crank wouldn't work.

Go to thenitroshop, select TNS modified and there is a button marked "add to cart". Simple and easy, right?

My Mito4 broke the rod but my bearings are in tact. I just replaced the sleeve and piston/rod. Still in the process of breaking both Mito4 and 7. How are you liking the Mantra and Rolling (if you got it)?
