Hello, Mr. Pike what would you say be a good loose dirt oval setup for the rsx. https://scontent.ftul1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...e2&oe=5A366D95
I have 6.5 and 7.5
with 2.6 tran b6d
27/84 is what I have now
Can stock timing 30 deg
Throttle
Current limit 5
Throttle min 3
Neutral width 5 KO EX-RR
Should I add timing to this motor?
Thank you for your time

I'm going to assume you're in blinky mode at the moment? How's this feel?
What are you looking to gain?

No it has some timing in it.
A guy at the track put some in. I need to pull the info and post it.
Like 90% of the guys here are running 27/84 think i tall but even Bob light is running that gearing
How's this feel?
Feels like I'm not getting the snap out if the turns like I need too.
What are you looking to gain?
Speed Mr. Pike I want to gain some dang #### speed lol

In general, all I need is the dashboard shot and your brake/drive frequency.
You're running a very odd setup and one I'd not run myself.
Torque at 5 but you're using boost and turbo is kinda backwards.
30 on the can , 10 turbo and 5 boost isn't a ton. I also DO NOT like the start/end rpm you're using.
You're using a gear box car so with that reduction comes typical useful rpm ranges of anywhere between 3k, and upwards of 40k in off-road type cars.
So you'd want your can timing to be the bottom end, boost to be the mid range, and turbo to be top end IF and I mean IF the oval can support it, most cannot.
So try 35 on the can, try 25 boost with start/end of 5k and 20k. Torque at 8.
Gearing start where you're at but watch the temps every 2 minutes of the run. The car shouldn't be topping out until you're ready to lift and let the car sit in the turn.

I did 6 packs and did gearing changes and esc stuff to get a feel for things. I'll email them tomorrow. And I have the data too. Thank you Mr. Pike

How accurate/relevant is that motor temperature on the data logger? I show 124°F at the end of the run. Using an RSX with Fantom 17.5 and not sure whether to trust data logger or temp gun ( showing about 150/60)

Personally, I run mod and stock 2wd with the same car and plan to leave the RSX in. I do plan to pick up one of the new Spec-R motors, though.
