Tekno MT410

Return it for the longer motor. That motor is suited for buggies, where all 4 of the buggy tires weigh as much as one monster truck tire. Especially with 100+ degree heat, you need the longest motor that fits.

First post but lurking as I do my own MT410 build.
Vettehigh - my build is very similar to yours. What ultimately made you go with the Max8 combo vs. the XR8 combo? Waterproofing?
Also - do you find the m2c shock tower supports having a noticeable impact in supporting the body? Debating if I should pick those up or not.

I've been reading a lot on keeping heat down and found people saying a 6S pack will produce less heat.
I was thinking about getting the SMC Factory Spec 22.2V 3600mAh 60C 6S pack. My Hitec X2 Plus can handle charging a 3600hAh 6S pack at 1C, but I'd have to charge below 1C if I go with the higher spec SMC 4300mAh 6S pack, as the Hitec only does 4A on a single charge channel.
I'm a little worried about the 3600mAh capacity though. If I go 6S I'll be running a Tekin 1350kV 4038 truggy motor instead of the 1700kV, due to the limits of my ESC. I'd like to have this combo geared to have enough power to do a standing backflip (I can't get that driveway video by chainsaw out of my head). I'm not sure what pinion that would take or if that 3600mAh pack will last a good amount of time bashing around a park though. I'm not so worried about the pinion, I've got a 15T here and a 17T and 19T on the way, more worried about how long the 3600mAh pack will last and if I should return the charger and get a higher wattage one if I go this route etc.

Get a real charger, like this one for example. You'll be able to charge a battery in 20 minutes not 2 hours. HT208 20 Amp - 300 Watt AC/DC Dual Charger
And go with the 4300mah.
And go with the 4300mah.

I had the HW XR8 Plus ESC Combo on my first MT410, but sold it brand new (buyer wanted it very bad). I stayed with HW because of the quality and many Tekno owners have the same. The Max8 is better suited for bashing and waterproofing just in case,. I use M2C because of their quality and I installed the items just because they are damn good

i have a hitec x4 charger. it has served me well for several years. it does not have enough power to charge some of the new battery packs at even 1C. i have the ht 208 charger above. i have only had it a couple of weeks but have been very impressed. it is touch screen. has more ability to examine the individual cells of the batteries and is smaller. it is hard to find a charger this powerful that does not require dc power supply.

I wonder if SMC will take back the 4S pack that comes tomorrow for credit towards a 6S pack. I read the return terms on their site and it sounds like it's a no-go. I'm going to reach out to them to see what they say I guess.
I wish I would have read up on all this motor/battery/charger stuff for a week longer before I made any purchases. I thought I had my research all wrapped up but there was so much I didn't know. I've basically messed up every step of this.
Oh and I fell down the LiPo paranoia rabbit hole last night too. After a bad LiPo bag review on Amazon talked about how the bag did nothing to stop a pack burning up, I watched a ton of YouTube LiPo fire videos and wound up ordering a Bat-Safe that I plan to keep in a giant empty rolling toolbox.
I'm still really excited to get this running and I know brushless with telemetry etc is going to be super fun, but I gotta say, it's all way more complicated than it was in the 90s

Does the mamba monster X fit ok in the mt410? And the castle 2200kv? I ran tekin electronics in my eb48.3 and et48 but I want to have something waterproof in the mt410. Also is the mmx waterproof? I know it can be run sensored and I usually associate sensored with not being waterproof. Maybe I should just get the mm2?
