Turns out it was just some stripped gears. My servo is the PM 3401 servo chrome and orange. Hoping the stripped servo gears didn't break anything else internally. What servo would be an "upgrade" if there is such a thing for 2wd buggy?im very happy to hear this servo is distributed by hobby authority. Had very good experience with customer service in another product. In any event what would be an upgrade for the PM 3401 for 2wd buggy? Thx!!
You can send it to us... Hobby Authority. Let us take a look. Let you know if it needs gears or needs to be replaced. BTW - we have a trade in program to get you a brand new one at a discount.

Have anyone tried to supply 7v to their PI/PM series servo that have a max input of 6.6v? I dont think theres an ESC out there with a BEC capable of delivering 6.6V. Its only 0.4V over the limit. Just want to use the maximum speed of this servo.

Most 1/10 servos deliver between 6v and 6.6v. Some high end speed control will give you adjustable options which can be up to 7.4v. Just set at 6.6v or below. Pushing it too high, might work for a little while, but you are run the risk of hurting the servo.

Im not sure which high end ESC your talking about that would allow the user to set the BEC voltage to precisely 6.6V, but just quickly going over the most popular high end ESC out there...
Orca R32 - 6V/7V
Hobbywing XR10 Pro - 6V/7.4V
Reedy Blackbox 510 - 6V/7.4V
Tekin RSX - 6V/7.4V
LRP Flow X - 6V
Scorpion Vanguard S3-140 - 6V
Muchmore Fleta Pro - 6V
Team Orion R10.1 - 6V/7.4V
None of them can set 6.6v

Pretty much any servo out there would have enough torque for on-road application. With the Schumacher Atom, you would want a high speed mini servo. I dont believe Xpert have a mini servo for your application, but Savox, Futaba, Sanwa all have servo for your application.

I've had hobbywing justock, stockspec, V3.1 120 amp, RS, rsgen2, and numerous rsx's. Driven the new hobbywing. All those different esc's were equally good I different ways but hobbywing a bit smoother. I thought the maclan was too overhyped.
Tried one and I replaced all 5 of my esc's with the Maclan. 32 bit resolution is unspeakably smooth and steering felt way smoother which was my biggest surprise. I haven't even turned the speed up either. It s a strange phenomenon

Also, the Maclan isnt widely used here in Hong Kong and a lot of the people in my local track uses ORCA escs, and it helps to know the owner of ORCA is a regular at my track, I can quite easily ask for support or settings.

Completely understandeable if in HK. I would say the programming box adjustment is great for me and I'd rather have it sooner and wait for PC. Don't know anything about the orca. Have zero support here for Orca. Sounds like it's 32 bit too which is great. That was still my second choice regardless. I will say their service is top notch. Most responsive in the states. Had an esc I fried (my fault). Sent it in. Same day it was received they fixed it for $90 instead of buying a new one. I fried the mosfet. They even took live fotos so when. I logged into my service account they uploaded pictures of the damage then shipped back out in 48 hours
I thought about this speed controller for a second because I vaguely remember it can connect to the PC or phone for programming, but during my research, it can only connect to is the program box and nothing else. Connecting to the PC isnt ready yet and connecting to a phone is not a thing, which sucks seeing how its a USB interface, I dont see how they cant add that function. Its a pretty huge let down seeing how this esc has been on the market for a while but features arent finalized yet.

I decided to give 7v a try on the servo and it seemed to be working just fine. For how long...well I guess you just have to wait for me to report back in a few months or until it goes up in flames.
I dont see a HUGE significant difference in speed tho
