Absolutely didn't think you were. The only query I have regarding how you've done it, is that it looks like it will affect the bump steer settings. I need to sit down with my car and have a look at it but I have a hunch that the steering links actually sit higher using the floating standoffs....
So they're definitely higher.
I suppose it also depends on how you want your bump steer set as well.

for stock (13.5 blinky) the blades running fine for several runs but needs to be replaced.
i use in front steel outdrives and blades from spec-R, very cheap and need to replace them 2 times in a weekend.
in the back i use the orange version of xray and last forever (almost 6 month`s)
the plastic outdrives getting a lot of space after a couple of runs.
also i think the blades are only usable with the 52mm CVD`s .

Been working on putting my kit together last few nights. My first X-ray kit and so far really impressed. So much so I I almost want to switch my Offroad stuff as well
really impressed with the quality of all the parts.
Only issue so far is I only got two shock springs. Missing a pair. First time I've had missing parts in a kit.

best to go with steel outdrives at front as it would last longer thus, cheaper in the long run. Have used alu outdrives before since steel was hard to get at the hobby shop, still bends (though minimal) with medium/hard impacts and I'm only running 17.5 blinky. Spec R has really strong and good steel outdrives for the xray platform that doesn't even require you to use the blades (if you are looking for a cheaper alternative).

Leespeed, xenon and panaracer seem to work well. Those 3 are also the quietest and smoothest brands you will find. If I had to rank them I'd go xenon, panaracer and leespeed but they are very similar and high quality. I have not tried xray pinions yet but have been planning to try them
- You can mount them with the narrow end pointing towards the motor,
- You can still access the grub screw from the top (without removing anything)
- You have a nice clearing to the belt. (about a millimeter)
