so the hitec x2 will charge at 7.5 amps not 10 amps per channel?

You can charge at 10A ONE channel, the other gets what's left so 5A. there is an adjustment in the setup to set the bias between the 2 channels, so you can make it 7.5 and 7.5 if you change it in the setup menu.

A curious statement as the Hitec X2 AC Plus can do max 10 amps and 1-6S on both channels. On AC power it's 100w total power, split between the two channels how you want. On DC power it's 100w power to each port. This is due to size constraints, a 200w AC power supply is significantly larger than the charger case allows.

If you run DC power you can charge 2, 1-2S packs at 10 amps each, 6 amps on 2S and 10 amps on 1S if you use AC power with 50/50 power distribution.

so 6 amps max on each channel using AC power?

I'm trying to help a person new to lipos find a decent little charger, he has 8200 mah batteries for his summit but it appears he won't be able to charge at 1c with this charger

so at that, would there be any concern running the charger at max?, even if it is 6amps

My Hitec X2 AC plus will not allow me to set my bottom channel to 1S 3.7V. Did you guys have an update recently? I see the picture above has that.

Depends on the cell count. Charger watts / pack voltage = max amps.

You can also put the full 100w AC power to either one of the ports if you need the extra juice.

6 amps isn't bad and I can leave the choice up to him, in the product description it says 10 amps......on a dual channel unit i was thinking that's each channel

It is capable of 10 amps maximum per port. That does not mean it will charge at 10 amps on every battery you plug into it, it just means that it can do up to 10 amps as a maximum.

Digging up an old post, but have you tried charging LiHV batteries with this charger? I have this charger as well and am looking to switch to HV batteries. I wasn't sure if I can just use the LiPo setting to charge LiHV, or if I need to get a new charger as well.

LiHV are just LiPo's so yes, you can charge them on a LiPo program. You can not charge them on a higher voltage but with most racing that is not alowed and if is is alowed you can look if you can set the end voltage in the LiPo program (some advanced chargers have options to finetune the voltage.)
