Why not deal directly with Tekno and call and email them ?

Well Lutz is a very personable guy from what I've experienced. He took the time to help me get my old Alpha Lutz nitro engine dialed in and he even offered setup tips for my trf801xt even though he had already left Tamiya.

My experience was great as well.

Why, because Lutz cares and will make time to help you. I would not hesitate to ask him anything. Very approachable and the best thing that ever happen for Tekno, strong positive influence on RC everywhere. No one among the top factory drivers connects with the RC racer better, NO ONE. His career rides on the RC car he races. He will have the fix and know what if anything will be done about it.

Everyone at the shop excels in customer service and treats each customer as if they are a champion. I'm a huge Lutz fan and agree that he's an amazing resource, but don't hesitate to go directly to Tekno if you need something.

I started building mine last night. I'm having difficulty reaming the rear arms. I have a Hudy 4mm reamer. Each hole individually is fine but the alignment is off when you put the pin all the way through both holes. My reamer wont cut the plastic to clean it out, and of course I'm missing the drill bit I need. Are you guys drilling them? Or is anyone else experiencing this? I've been building cars for 30 years, I've never seen A-arms holes misaligned like this.

Lutz is using a chainsaw file in a drill. Seems crude, but it works great.

I had to go with the drill bit because literally every arm reamer was sold out at the time. And I had to wiggle the bit a little in order to correct that slight deformity. And I used compressed air to clean out the holes after I made a drill pass. Took me a few tries for each arm but I eventually got it perfect

Chuck it up in a drill. Takes less than 30 seconds to get a perfect fit of hinge pin to the arm.

I have the Hudy reamer as well. Hardly touches the Tekno plastic. File is the easiest solution.

I thought about chucking a file in my drill. Right now my arms are in the freezer hoping to make them hard enough to cut. I'll check the link to the file. We don't have a Lowes, But thanks for the link. This gives me an idea of what I need to do.

Any lawnmower shop or hardware store should have them.

I used a #19 drill bit on mine. I noticed if you run the drill forward and take it in and out a few times it opens things up nicely. Then if you run the drill in reverse and run the bit in and out a few times it seems to almost polish the inside of the holes. My hinge pins fell right through after doing this to both the front and the rear.

Going to start building mine tonight. These Chainsaw Files look perfect for the job. Going to stop at Lowe's on the way home and get to building!

I used the Hudy arm reamer on mine, it seemed to take a long time but it worked eventually. Don't try and do one side at a time, you have to push it all the way through. Make sure the slots in the reamer are cleaned out.
I used a #19 drill bit on my .3 and really wasn't happy with how that turned out.

If I am reading this right, it looks like the chainsaw file is smaller in diameter than the #19 bit.

Of the two options, which is better?

I have a reamer but it does take a bit to work it through. To be honest, still kind of surprised that this is still something that needs to be done on version 4 of the buggy.
