Anyone have experience with the Top Elite 7 On? It seems very similar to ISON 21, but the cylinder has a different part number. The specs are the same.
Would there be a better choice in the ~$200 price range? How much power would I be giving up going with this or the ISON21 over the latest high-end engines?

Just about to get into 200mm onroad and was wondering how the legend 12r performs compared to its competition. Also what would would be the best header pipe combo for a medium speed high traction track

You should be very happy. Easy to tune and runs well. Take your time breaking it in and it'll run for many gallons. I run a med header and 2660 pipe. I bought mine here.>>

You'll see in my sig that I run Piccos. It's really just a preference thing. I switch them out from time to time. Just for fun...

Have to take an opportunity to plug the rex revenge .12on. I baught this engine on a whim just to get a dirst cheap club race motor as the used keepon i was planning to run blew up.
I ran this engine with a nova 2660 pipe and included 41616 manifold #7 novarossi plug and byrons 30% nitro fuel. Engine was run in a 2016 NT1 with top end proamps servos.
We explected an engine with performance fitting the price but to my surprise, the engine had more than enough power for local club tracks, even vancouvers monster straight.
I was able to win iroccs speed weekend with it and vancouvers rrr challenge.
During their 3 hour enduro we finished second with the revenge, just 0.5s behind another nt1, with higher end power.
Very happy with the engine. Really outlines what is actually needed to be competitive. It all comes back to driving and car setup on a majority of tracks. Particularly smaller ones.

Ok, so I usually run .12, but this is my first time breaking in a Novarossi engine of any kind and this is a .21.
I am wondering what are the best settings for breaking in (LSN, HSN, etc)
Also does anyone know the factory settings? I need to reset
Thanks

I am running a VIR-TUS .12 in my MTX-6 with a Hipex 2669 pipe and Hipex medium manifold. Standard 6tgf glow plug on Byrons 30/9 fuel.
I am having an issue with LSN setting. I have it turned in all the way and then only about 4-5 hours out. When it comes up to temp, ~270, I come in and the idle is very high. I was talking to another guy at the track with the Mito and he said his is almost all the way in. The motor runs good and strong. It is just this idle issue that tells me that the bottom end is too rich. Should I keep going in until it hits and just expect that is where it wants to run?
Thanks in advance, Joe Cude.

Another issue is that you are running 30% nitro in a 12 engine. These motors are designed for 16%. If you must run 30% you should be running more oil 11% would be much better with a 7 tgfb plug. You must also raise the head clearance 0.1mm for 30% over stock.

Stock is LSN 5 turns out from fully in. HSN 3.5 turns out from fully in.

You are way too lean on the bottom (as well as the chap with the mito). Novarossi engines don't like to be too lean on the bottom. The virtus will always high idle when coming into the pits (the high initial idle is mostly related to the top end needle anyway). It should settle after 5-10 seconds. The mito is slightly better but for sure your buddy is way too lean if the needle is almost all the way in (if he has to run that far in then he could have an air leak). Also run the B line plugs they allow a more stable idle.

Guys, just need an honest opinion, after i tested this combo with 4bbt/4bttwc/keep off 4/keep off 7/paloma,i felt like this pipe is use for economy n not progressive powerband. I think 2096 will give a better progressive powerband. Efra 2058/9886 will wake it up.
Any findings?
