Only glitching I have come across is standing nexto another driver with a flysky.

It wasn't until days later that I realized it actually was glitching.

Iv had drivers whinge about glitching at the off-road track, all of them had nilly flat batterys.

At onroad majority of people run spektrum & havnt heard a single thing about glitching out of anyone, & it's situated at the end of a runway & Air Force base

^^ Yup, good point. Only issues I've had other than antenna is battery. All standard stuff.
Would not surprise me some cheap junk from China is messing with the radio spectrum; in the same way cheap Power Supplies give off a ton of noise / interference too.

I bought one about a month ago. Most people recommended using ni-zn because of the higher voltage. But i been using eneloop sanyo max black label kind. so far, i hadn't experience any problem.

check well, that you have connected the receiver in DSMR and not in DSM2...

...or , an interesting thing could be connected in DSM2 and see if it still happens ! ....

I use the NIZN to keep the voltage high, so as not to have glitching problems. I have gone over two years on two sets of these batteries. I would love to use a stronger battery. A friend was using a lipo in his showing 8 volts, and absolutely no glitches.

Let me throw this out there, it caused me issues for months.
Something noted in the manual but easy to miss is that "if you reverse the steering servo you must do a rebind"
I had a glitch at 1 or 2 areas on the track and I saw this in the manual and I did a rebind and it was fixed.
So my standard thing is if I have any type of issue I bind the receiver to the radio just to be sure it's not something between the receiver and radio.
It is one of your trouble shooting tools that is quick and free.
Try binding the receiver and radio just to be sure.

Good Luck

Hey guys,

Urgent! got a big meet this weekend and wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and can help.

My steering has become a bit weird. Hard to explain but it gets really light turning one way some of the time. It's really off putting and stuffs me up. It just feels loose.

The spring is not borken, and i would have thought if it was playing upi it would have the same effect going left or right. It seems to be only when steering one way.

Has anyone opened one up? PLease help I would like to solve for the weekend. But am hesitant to take apart unless I know I won't do permanent damage. I'd rather leave it till after the meet and have it a dodgy. Than have no transmitter at all for this weekend.

thanks in advance.

Bump, has anyone opened up their dx4r - I assume it's different to the dx3 videos and therefore mechanism. My steering is really off putting.

Hi guys,

I took the risk and pulled it apart. Easy to do, which is good. I stiffened the spring by shortening it 2 loops. Couldn't see anything wrong, feels stiffer which I like. Yet, I'm still getting this weird softening feeling. Now I'm starting to think it's in my mind, can't see how.

Anyways, let me know if anyone else gets this sense.

Default Jconcepts DIRT steering wheel foams

The Jconcepts "DIRT" steering wheel foam is sweet. Gotta say, for $6 for two of them - these things are sweet. a little more cush that the stock hard foam and the grey looks good on the DX4r Pro... which is a awesome radio - Even if it doesn't have wiFi or Apps.

Volition,

1.) Have you tried flipping the steering spring around to see if it's softer in the opposite direction? (That would show the Spring is weaker in the other direction / end)

2.) Try disconnecting the spring completely, and test movement of the steering rockers assembly to ensure it is free in either direction without binding.

3.) Maybe you could try calling Horizon support in your area for a new steering spring if possible.

Hope you get it figured out! The DX4R is an awesome radio!!

I race 5 different are on the same permanent track and none of them will trim straight I think it is in the radio the car goes straight in the short straight but at the end of our longest straight I'm having to correct it to right. I can adjust the trim to fix the car at the end of the straight and the problem still persist. It is making me want to change brands of radio this is driving me nuts.
