I just can't imagine how a 55mm shock can have less than 10mm of droop and still have downward travel. How short do the super minis build to?

The pictures are in my album in my profile.

They're listing the standard 54606 arms on the spec sheet. Seems they're still blowing their horns about them being vastly superior to the old 2 piece versions. They're supplying stainless pins and low friction step screws. Those might help.

What I'm actually more impressed by is that RC Mart still has complete M03 kits for sale for $85. That is awesome. The black bling on the new car is nice too, I suppose.
LOL, about the improved (or same) 54606 arms! Yeah, I saw that the M03 new in kit is available ...gosh, lots of things I want!!!

I improved my fan mount.
...it is now hinged at 2 points so I can easily angle it however I want, I can also rotate it at the mounting point. I used some plastic parts from other spare car builds I had lying around.

Has anyone gotten the m05 mx5 kit?

Is it a v2 chassis?

Has anyone fitted the new MX5 body on the m06?

A little curious to know Eric how it holds up under race conditions. I have to show your pix to my Dad so we can copy your design and try it on our minis!

Yep kind of wondering if the fan would vibrate from the driving? Anyway looks good.

Made a simple adapter plate to fit AE TC5 shocks onto my m05v2. Had to shorten the ball cup on the shaft a few mm to get the length right.
My solution for mounting a fan was pretty simple... just a standoff and 2 screws.
I ordered some Sweep wheels from TQRC last week, and they arrived today. Super fast shipping as always. Anyways, the wheels aren't as florescent as I had hoped, but oh well.
The wheels are 3g lighter than tamiya wheels, but boy are they flexible.

It's the standard M05, just has the molded extensions at the rear as per V2, front chassis molding as original, also has original suspension arms.

Sorry another question. I added 2 additional washers into my diff today, nipped the cover down without going crazy and it really feels notchy and it is really loud when doing its job. Additionally when just turning one wheel by hand the other wheel turns the same way, i.e. no diff action.

Normal? Will it run in? Need more greese or less cover tension?

Thanks

You have LSD (limited slip differential) action so that is normal for both tires to turn the same direction when you turn it by hand.

As for the grinding feel, the MR diff is like that. But it works pretty dang well. BTW what do you mean by 'really loud'? I hope you're not holding one tire while throttling up the drivetrain to full power. That can heat up the diff and potentially damage it. You want limited slip action, not open diff action.

I might have held one wheel and spun it up to test it

Wont do it again thanks for the advice.

So round pack only?

Why tamiya?

Hi Scot, Ivan whoever.

I had to get new tires for the Mini, and again I got S-Grips.

The question is this; for some reason I bought the blue 60D inserts (soft) Before I glue everything; is this the right way to go? This is for the front clearly and before I was using 60D, but the insert was black; I'm assuming harder. The tires seemed worn mostly in the middle, the inner edge had more wear than the outer (ca applied edge) which really had none.

I did read one person had blue inserts rear and firmer inserts front.

Anyway your thoughts would be appreciated but keep in mind I don't think I had really any issues with grip last year. I'm tempted to go with status quo and forget about the blue.

Yeah, on the standard M05 you are limited to the round packs. But I found on my V2 that my rectangular pack I use on my SabreMini's didn't fit through the rectangular hole either. I was able to fit the shorty I have in the V2 though..
