I have a meter but type to plug into balance plug that all my batteries have except this one. My chargers don't charge lipos unless balance plug plugged in. Seems my chargers want a balance plug for this LIFE battery. .the battery seems to charge with NIMH Setting on my little charger would this be a bad idea?

Yes, always charge batteries on the correct setting.

On road guys use drag brake? My 1st on road car and it seems to make sense to use. Off road affects to much with jumping.

If your running mod a small amount of drag break can be beneficial. In the slower classes no drag break needed.

I usually run 10-20% drag brake in my 17.5 car with an Orion R10 1-2s ESC. It seems to help setup the car to turn into sharp corners a little better without actually hitting the brakes. More open layouts I run less, tighter layouts I run more.

I don't run any drag brake. I set the car up to carve into the turn as soon as I let off in 17.5 and 13.5.

watching the video back and watching your car and another car i need to learn how to do this. the way i drive my car, i think i have it setup for me to drive like a tc almost. like it seems like i'm aggressive with it. i dont know if its just the difference between the crc and roche, but the roche just seems like it glides into turns and it seems like i snatch it. maybe i need to work on my driving a lot more than i thought.

All my 12th scales are setup like that. CRC, Roche, Reflex, AE. So it's setup more than anything and maybe driving style. In 17.5, if I let off for a tight corner like a 180 at the end of a straight, it might be like 25~50% off throttle. Other corners it might be full speed or just a quick 25% blip off throttle if I have to. For TC, I'm more aggressive on the brakes. If you come up here this Sunday, let me drive your car during practice.

you can also set up your radio to drive a 1/12th exactly like a TC if you push brake at every corner. you just need to set your brake end point to something like 15-20%

Recently I discovered that my 1/12th scale cars (all of them) turn better if I just breathe the throttle very slightly or even don't lift at all. Found this out while hunting for ways to make my too-easy-to-drive WGT turn more aggressively. For sure, I find it very un-instinctive to be consciously forcing myself to enter corners without letting off the throttle, but it does work. My guess is that the corner entry is better without a bunch of abrupt weight transfer to the front end which probably overwhelms the front tires.
