What are signs of a bad pcb on a tekin 1900kv?? My buggy cogs at least once or twice every battery pack I run.It almost sounds like gears are grinding for about 1-2 seconds.

That can be a lot of things, not just an esc. That can be the sign of poor battery connection, bad sensor harness, shorting BEC issues, etc.

Post the entire setup of what's in the car, including battery connector style. The more info you give us, the quicker we can help.

Intermittent cogging is generally a bad connection.

Ok, I don't see any settings here causing an issue. What servo are you using? What radio and receiver? What is your BEC set to?

What batteries?

7 So the new update don't have data logging?
I just got my rx8 from tower hobbies meaning last night.
Got everything setup fan DOA. Black out then tried black in. Still zero.
Fan setting is set on all the time. Then no data is logging. The software is 254. I'm I missing something here? Thank you

Update: I found the data log on the phone it's there.

Fan still doa

My fan is plugged in with the red in the middle and the black on the outside towards the sensor cable. Both of mine don't turn on until they need to, but I'm not sure what setting on it's set on.

There are only 2 settings for the fan. Auto and Always On.
On Auto, the fan should still spin up for about a second during the initial power on test and arming, so you can see if the fan actually works.

Picking up my second RX8, great esc's. Had my first RX8 for quite awhile, most reliable esc ever.

I just did a test run after work and no data logging with my rx8. Then I did a test run on my 1.10 buggy both rsx and it shows data that I just did a test run. But nothing from rx8 logs.

Should I try other firmware like a 249? Or 250 other than then the 254 beta

This is the for Android sorry.

..That;s the funniest thing I have heard all day!

We find here they are ok for 4wd SCT and marginal for 1/8 Buggy. For 1/8 On Road, despite their "rating" they are, for what is a $300 esc here and 120 day warranty simply unreliable.

So while I respect that some people swear by their Tekin, and in some instances they are ok (my RSX has been sound in 21.5 blinky) In my opinion, and an opinion shared by many where I race, they are a no go for 1/8 On Road period.

That is a picture of an old Gen1 unit, interesting to post that one. 1/8 On-road is a different monster all together. The load being placed on the entire system and parts involved is pretty impressive overall. We've been working with the Serpent factory on setups an they've been quite happy and very reliable.

When looking at data logs from racers we often find the batteries being used are simply not sufficient for the load the system is asking for. 1/8 on-road isn't going to work with 30c batteries and cheap connectors.

Care must be taken when choosing components for this genre of racing. It's a much higher load than 1/8 Off-road simply due to he grip the cars generate.

The most successful setup has been 6s and a 1900kv in most conditions. Where we see the most issues is classes/racers regulated to 4s. This forces guys to use 2650's(one of the nastiest loads around) and 4s batteries. These MUST be up to the task of supplying the esc with the power it needs to drive the motor. We see big power spikes and blown caps when cheaper and or less quality batteries being used in these conditions.

I agree with Platgof. I currently have 3 rx8 esc's and they been super reliable. The first one I got, I bought it in mid 2014 for my 4wd sct and I can tell you that its been tru hell. I burned motors(testing), puffed batteries, even plugged it wrong(reverse polarity) for like half a second and did not burned. I also own an rxs, an rs spec and a rs gen2. Great ESC's. I don't really like the 1/10 scale motors tho. seem to be weak. My trackstar 7.5Tv2 has more cojones than the tekin gen2 7.5T. Just my opinion.
