No, it's not odd going above 7 in any of the diffs. In fact a lot of the team guys have been trying thicker diffs oils as a whole, for example 997. We are finding that the thicker diff oils make the car easier to drive, keeps it straighter, and reduces the darty feeling the car can have sometimes.

Good deal! Thanks. I have it in the cart. Will see if black friday helps me out. Almost got it when I got the NB48.3, but didn't want to have to purchase new batteries because of price. I see that the SMCs are reasonably priced. Wondered about the 60C, but that should be good.
SMC are excellent batteries, no worries at all!

I have been running the EC5 plugs from SMC (they are different from the EC5s from E-Flite) but they are very difficult to plug and remove. It's gotten old, so I am switching to Traxxas plugs. That way all my vehicles will be on the same plug and can use all my batteries in all compatible vehicles.
I know Deans are very popular but I never had any luck with them. I was using the genuine Deans and they would come apart during a race. Putting a zip tie on them every run got old as well. Ditched them quickly. Maybe it was me and my soldering job making the plugs loose. I figure if it was that easy to not assemble them correctly, they weren't the plug for me.
