Your LHS RCCW has them and can order more.

Indeed. I like the scale look of the Tamiya Rover Mini bodies on my m-chassis for sure. but would not want to race with them.

I take care of my Minicooper bodies by putting clearbra over the head lamp and surround decal so that I can replace the damaged clearbra vs having scuffed lamps just in case I scrape the wall.

I wonder if clearbra would've protected me from these battle scars. (and holes, cracks, bends...)

Man that's what my cars look like after races with Golddust!

I got my Blitz bodies from RC Mushroom. Not sure if they still carry them though.

Before I split my chassis I wanted to double check with you guys. I think I read this a few pages back. The only way to tighten up the TA03 diff is to add shims to the the bolt? I need more of a limited slip action out of it.

Basically yes. This assumes you have the bolt fully tight - it will bottom out, so avoid the temptation to go any further as that will just strip the soft aluminiuim pressure plates.

You can also play with the orientation of the belleville washers to get a stiffer spring action - >>> is stiffer than ><>. But you may also need shims to get the feel right.

Yep, but be very careful you don't over tighten it because the thread will strip pretty easily. I've broken a few this way already. At least with the M05 diff, you can easily replace the generic holder and nut (and screw) but on the TA03 diff you'll have to basically get a new set unless you can find just the pressure plate or that screw. GL!

If yours break, I recommend you try the monkeyracing diff or just get some oil gear diffs.

We race under TCS rules so Tamiya only. What about the Tamiya M05 ball diff? Better or worse?

Oh I see. The M05 diff will not tighten as hard as the TA03 diff. If you're going for stiff, I would stick to the TA03 diff, but just be careful you dont strip it out.

On the TA03 diff, I think I got maybe 4-5 tightenings before it stripped.

The "Monkeyracing diff" (seriously, not my idea) is a stock Tamiya gear diff, with an extra shim or two on each side. A little smear of anti-wear grease, tighten it down very evenly and you're good to go. If you can get away with it, it tiny hole drilled in the side of the chassis will allow access to make it externally adjustable.

Extra shims here.

I want to try these tires on my track. I've had good luck with 25 degrees on my MiniZ's.

Answering my own question...

NO..well if forced, yes I suppose..

LOL'ed at knock-off TE37's. But looks good. They dust as bad as foam tires though. I think I'm going back to the generic Tamiya kit tires for 55D..
