Neat little tire trick I learned at the Japan nationals.

Stupid question, but do you have to run a Low profile servo in 1/12?

You should run a mini servo such as, Futaba S9670, S9650...etc. Moat standard size servos are to big and heavy for 1/12. 1/12 chassis are typically designed for mini servos.

I made two product review videos for those who are interested.

Product reviews are...

Gravity RC Tire Sanding Stick

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CcIGCYo6Oc

GQ Tire Truer Cutter

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ga7WrrOiIoc

Then I decided to see how the GQ cutter and Gravity RC sanding stick would perform.

Enjoy!

A quick question, do you use front droop on 1/12 pan cars? And if you do, how much will be a good starting point?

Thank you.

Droop is definitely used in the front of a 12th scale. .5 mm wouldn't be a bad place to start.

Thank you Andrew.

Please correct me if I am wrong:

At the track (medium bite asphalt), the car started with zero droop, the main chassis and the rear bottom pod plate level level. The car had no traction, can't even run straight.

Then,
I lengthen the center shock to have some rear droop. The car instantly felt much better, and drove easy.

I then further removed some shims from the king pins to have some front droop. The car felt very confident throughout the track.

Is this the correct way to gain rear traction for 1/12 pan cars?

Thanks again!

It is one of the ways to get more side bite. Softer side dampening will help too.

Anyone have any tips to increase on-power steering? My car tends to want to push on power which means I need to over-slow at turn in and if I get on the power too early I wash out from the apex.

I am going to try softer front springs, increased caster and put a bit more weight towards the front for starters. Any other tips? More forward rake (last time I ran it it had about .2mm-.4mm rake towards the front)? Center spring?

No changes I tried in the rear helped (side springs, damper lube).

This is an inline battery 13.5T car.

Make the center shock more inclined or go to a stiffer center spring. Alternately, take caster out. More caster will help the car finish the corner, but the 'centering' effect is also stronger, which will make the car feel like it has initial understeer on power.

Softer front springs will also make the car feel a little lazier and it won't have as much 'cut' at high speeds.

Raising the front of the car (ride height) might also help you get the feel you are looking for.

Next Monday I'll be on a trip to Monterey, CA. Is there any hobby shop to step by?
