I brought a 130T when they were on sale for my drifter.
Extremely happy with it. I brought another drifter & put a savox I had in it and it's so loud it's not funny. So I ordered another 130T straight away.
Ordered a 160SS for my new VTA.
Never had any issues with protekRc, all my tools are protek, & running their new chargers.

Only issue is Aussie dollar has dropped so everything is more expensive now.

Just wanted to give Protek a plug.. Bought the 160t low profile for my 2wd buggy and this thing is SUPER quite and butter smooth! I have been trying all kinds of servos as of late ( Xpert, Spektrum, RSX, and BLS futaba), so far this protek is my Favorite because its Blazing fast , smooth, and has good TQ. If you ever look around its hard to find a Loprofile servo with the specs of the 160t , anyways great job Protek and I strongly recommend this servo!

Have they fixed the issues with these servos yet or do they still get the shakes very quickly. I was looking at buying some but I am international customer and would hate to have to try send them back.

The replacement 130SS that Amain provided for my shaky one has turned out fine so far. Perhaps they've fixed it for good. It's a shame they didn't really admit the fault with them formally and explain the problem and the fix that they've put in place. It would have certainly restored confidence.

Personally, even though they seem to have fixed it, I wouldn't buy another one and I just have a general reservation over the general protek quality given my experience with the servo. Some might see that as narrow minded but personally there are better reputed brands out there for the same money.

FWIW I run a 130T on 7.4v in my SCT410 and a 170S on 7.4v in my ET48. My SCT410 has roughly 50 packs through it and it works as well as it it did the day I installed it. The ET48 has maybe 10 packs and still works great. The 170S is an absolute monster! They are both very fast but I like my stuff twitchy. I cant wait to see how the 170T is in my Yeti XL as soon as it gets here.

I had a set of Savox 6.0v 1256/1258 for 2 years and no issues at all just wanted to start using lipo receiver packs so I got these Proteks. Anyway I sent a email to Amain about the shakes and they want me to send it in but I have no HV backup servos and a bunch of important races coming up. I wonder since I have spent thousands in the last two years and NEVER once complained or ask for a replacement even when something gave me a problem if they would send me a replacement servo first then I send this one in. How long does it usually take to get a servo back after RMA from Amain? This sucks right in the middle of racing series here in my local area! Mine shakes bad even off jumps and while pitting also seems to have a spot where it sticks when turning by hand slowly when power is off.
This is pretty much exactly my problem right here. In the last couple of months Ive bought 2 130ss for my XB8. The steering servo got the shakes after maybe 10 tanks, and Ive just noticed the throttle servo doing the same tonight - maybe another 10 or 15 tanks later.
Both servos will shake intermittently around centre, but stop as soon as any load is applied. Im not sure if it even has any effect on the car around the track, because even the load of the tires spinning will stop it, but its worrying all the same.
Im in NZ and the turn around for RMA drops me out of several of our meets as I dont have spares.
Will the servos be replaced or repaired? If replaced, ideally the replacements would be sent out first. I wouldnt even mind a temp charge on my c/c until the faulty servos made it back to amain.

I use the 150T in my Tekno SCT410. It developed the shakes, and i reluctantly sent it in for the same reason (not having a spare and didn't want to be without). The AMAIN turn around was pretty quick for me (less than two weeks - but i live in Southern CA), and when it came back there was no documentation on what work was actually performed. It appeared as if i got a new servo - but it is possible they sent back the exact same one. And after 3-4 runs, guess what returned? Yup, the shakes. Now, i will say that the shakes have not affected my race driving at all - and it is only really apparent when the truck is on the stand. I still have this servo in my race ready truck, and love the performance. So if you can get past the shakes, it is still worth owning (if you already paid for it of course).

Hate to have to do this, but I had a horrible experience with 2 of these protek 150s's. They claim 25 spline servo but two different brand 25 tooth servo horns felt loose on the spline. One was Hudy the other was a double clamping style. The Hudy horn stripped the servo splines within a few packs. I replaced the gears and the same thing happened with the clamping horn again within a few packs (ebuggy). So tried another servo, this time with the included protek horn, which is the only horn that actually seems to fit snuggly on the spline. Anyway a few packs in the servo develops the shakes and has noticable play.

Also, right out of the box they don not feel as if they have nice smooth action.

I will reluctantly pay to ship back from Canada just to receive more of these servo's, which i don't trust.

lose lose situation here. Very dissapointed in this product.

Does anyone use the 170s Chad servo yet. Any problem so far getting tired of my other brand as there life span seem to be just over a year.. I want a long term servo I have some old analog still alive that have been working better than some of these hv servo. And yes I want over kill for my buggy. I always thought they would last longer and no I don't crash a lot.
