I have exactly the same problem with a 130SS which I've just returned. I installed the servo in the car but it exhibited this problem straight away so it never got used. Amain provided an RMA number straight away (great customer service as always) and it's on the way back to them.

These servos look great on paper but in reality are not a lot of good. It was worth a punt but I won't be buying another and I've asked amain to refund it as store credit to buy a decent servo such as savox or airtronics as those two brands have NEVER let me down. Not sure if they will do it though?

Sorry but the protek servos need seriously addressing as there seem to be far too many failures and many within minutes of first use!

yeah my 350t started twitching on center when i put it in my buggy, was ok in the truggy but it only takes a little touch of the wheel to stop it, i guess the buggy steering is less binding. after twitching it was losing steering like a flat rx battery, on closer inspection the servo has died, the motor keeps turning must be shredded gears or something. i have ordered a futaba 9352HV as replacement, going for the high speed lower torque option. the 350t wasnt new though so havent bothered trying to return it. it lasted only 15 minutes after it started twitching though

Well exactly 2 months to the day from my last post my throttle servo started acting up. It works sometimes and sometimes it acts like its unplugged and has trouble finding center. Atleast it got me through the nats, I just sent it back to Amain, Im sure they will do me right. Nothing wrong with the performacne of them, they perform flawlessly and have awesome torque and speed.

The other day I was driving my rc around and the servo(100ss) automatically made it turn left without me making it steer left. Now the servo is stuck in the left steering position and it won't go back to neutral or right. It tries to go right if try to steer right but it won't budge. I can hear it trying but it won't go. Deos anyone know what my problem is? Please help. Thank you.

The protek servos are awful. I've had several and every single one has failed in various ways. Is the servo still under warranty? If so send it back to amain for a replacement. They must get loads of them back so they shouldn't grumble about repairing/replacing. I've got savox's & Sanwa/Airtronics servos that are several seasons old and still going strong. The proteks look good on paper but that is about where it ends I'm afraid.

I just had a 150s lose center so Im sending it back. Just barely under the 1 year warranty. I beat the crap out of it so Im impressed with the latest Proteks.
The 1st few I had problems with but they took care of it with no issues.
I have gotten quite a few locals using these servos and few failures.
Any servo that can last almost a year with what I do to them is ok in my book.

From the looks of it they sent me a new servo, this one has no scratches at all.
I was expecting a repair, thanks Protek.
Still a loyal Protek customer.

Anybody ever use the 230s or the 250s for 1/10th buggy or stadium truck. Specs look pretty good. http://www.amain.com/ProTek-R-C-230S...oltage/p228483

I switched to the protek 170s after having both savox and hitec fail me in important races, been running them for the last 6 months with 0 issues, they have been the smoothest, fastest and quietest servos I have ever used. I bought them expecting them to be the best and they have not disappointed me yet. ..

I just wanted to add a note in case others have (had) similar issues. I bought the ProTek 150T back in June for my Tekno SCT410. It was absolutely awesome for months. Then, for no apparent reason, it started what i can only describe as a "shuddering" or "shaking" when centered and off the ground (i.e. on a work stand with no load on tires). As soon as i put a small amount of side pressure on the tires, the shaking stops. But it starts again as soon as i start steering. I already reached out to AMain to start the RMA process, and fully expect to receive the good quality customer service everyone else comments on. I guess i'll keep you posted...

Follow up on my servo. AMain came through with spectacular customer service. I'd read about the quality of service, and have now experienced it first hand. It took me over a week to find time to send the servo back. I received a brand new replacement from AMain within a week. I expected the issue to be resolved, but didn't expect a new one in a week. Thanks for the awesome customer service.

Dang I was strongly considering a protek servo but after reading this thread and the huge amount of failure I dont think I want to take that risk. Customer service sounds excellent but what's the point when you just get sent another servo that fails.
Any updates on reliability?
