I'm liking this radio! I tried the drop down steering as in practice it felt natural, however during actual racing it felt like the heel of the transmitter was always in in my stomach, which I didn't like. In between rounds I swap the wheel back to high, and it felt much better to my liking. Once I can get the angle I may try the drop wheel again, as this should get the heel of the TX away from me.

I picked up a lap with this radio! I've been struggling to break the 40 lap barrier, each week topping out at 39. Not a problem this week, my 5, 10 & 15 lap average times are much more consistent, and not as dispersed. It's probably because I'm getting better as well, however the 4PX didn't hurt things either and I'm sure helped.

I'm still looking for a case, good thing it still fits in my 1/8th hauler bag

Just an update on my radio. I currently have a little over 7 hours on my radio including setup time. I have not done the update and I am still on version 1.0e software. Running Hitec servos in digital mode with no glitching issues at all 3 of my electric cars. Hope everyone gets their issues figured out if they are having any.
As a side note I am using R304SBE RX in my cars.

Guys i have read through half of this thread with no luck. I have spoken to a couple local guys that had the same issue and both somehow got it to happen. Issue is i cant bind my r614FS Rx's. I have tried everything. YES my TX is set in FASST, i then power up my rx and the led goes straight to solid red. I push the bind button down until the led starts flashing. It will flash about 4 times and go straight back to solid red. I came from the 4pks-r which is nothing like this radio when it comes to binding. PLEASE HELP!!

As a test, try setting the mode to FASST as you already have. Then power off the 4PX (and RX if on). Now power the 4PX on ensure the FASST mode is still selected for that model memory with the R614FS RX. Once verified, now try the binding operation.

If this works, the issue is likely due to The Radio Frequency (RF) mode being changed. Some other transmitters required reboot of the TX when changing between models with different RF modes before they'd work.

Based on what I have seen so far, I'm not 100% certain the C1 and C2 versions of the FASST type receivers changed after the R603FF and R603FS model RX. Maybe someons can help us determine if there were ny of the later models that could have been shipped as C1 before the migration to C2. C1 and C2 are not compatible apparently. It'd be ashamed if you had to open the RX to look for something on the PCB to determine this.

I hope this helps you some.

Wow. Seems there are a lot of issues with this radio set. Hope you get it squared away. Futaba has excellent customer service repair center. If you cannot get it sorted, it's worth sending it back and they will probably fix it, send a new one or at least tell you how to get it working.

If you are referring to the the M12 Airtronics, its a great radio, and feels really good in hand. What you upgrade to depends on you and maybe your investment of receivers, or not if you only have 1 or 2, or like to swap between radios. For surface I'm invested big in Futaba, and for air, Spektrum. I would have like Futaba for air as well, but my Spektrum collection was too big when I got back in to cars.

I would bet for every issue logged, there are more non issue satisfied users, that's the nature of the internet and forums.

I used a m11x and a m12
Love them both and worked flaweles.
M12 menu was not for me. Got crazy if i wanted to do a quick setup change.
Have seen a 4px from a felow driver and was hooked right away.
Easy menu and model selection and jus great overall looks .
Needed one run to adapt to the 4px feeling .
But im in love now.
Feels to me it has faster respons as my m12 but on paper its a bit slower.
Looks it has a more agressieve reaction on the trigger and steering..
I love it and no problems here.

Try it again. Only this time hold the radio close to the receiver. I mean right up to it, almost touching it. See if that works

has anyone noticed how easily the screen scratches on this radio? I cleaned it with a little windex and a washcloth and it scratched the hell out of it. does anyone know if a replacement is available from Futaba?

Had the same problem. I must say for how much this radio costs they could have thrown a few more dollars at a scratch resistant screen. Good radio otherwise. Get a screen protector on it asap. As soon as it goes on you won't notice the scratches anymore

mine had a screen film on it and that scratched and I thought the screen had scratched easy but no, pulled the film and put an iphone 4 screen protector on it, golden. Can't imagine spending $500+ and not putting a $5 screen protector on it and then complaining.....

There are no screen savers available yet in the US. I bought a screen saver for a tablet off of Amazon, and used the factory one as a template.[IMG][/IMG]

Jeremy, I had a similar problem with mine, turned out my 1st channel on the radio has a problem. I switched to model #2 and its all good.
