It is pretty solid, but pushed real hard the way I drive. I heard good things about box stock, so decided to give it a overhaul since I had it completely torn down. Not a huge surprise, it's actually quite good! After just a quick tank at practice mid week (only had limited time), I fine tuned a few things.

I'm not only stacked up against a small handful of great local Tekno drivers (brand is still growing), but up against team drivers from Kyosho and a whole army of Mugen sponsored drivers. I need it to remain nimble and agile, especially in the very sharp corners we have. Using box setup, I have made a few adjustments that immediately helped out a bit to give a little slide in the rear to get around the corners faster. Using losi oils, I went to 42.5 in the front and 37.5 in the rear instead (85-95 degree heat). I shorted the rear link to the 'c' position. This was an immediate improvement, decreased the pushing, and allowed for much faster cornering.

I am narrowing the gap in feel between the EB48 and NB48, which is my ultimate goal.

Almost 16 hours at the track, almost 180 minutes running. Good day!

But with all that said X-ray was way more stable then my mbx7 so I am not looking to go back that way . To the slippery back that Neva seems planted . Any help would be great .
I just gone the other way Tekno to XB8. There are similarities between the 2, they both have mad steering, both tough, but on my local track, the xb8 wins hands down, in a nutshell better setup options and easier to drive.

Thats the first time I have ever heard someone say the xb8 was easier to drive, I had the opposite experience, thought the xb8 was very twitchy for my style but obviously theres a million different setups and I think the reality is with enough trial and error or just pure luck you can find a setup on any kit that will work for you. What setup options does the xb8 have that the nb48 does not, I dont remember anything major but I only drove the xb8 for a weekend.

I would guess the EB brakes.

He is using TKR5206 and TKR5214 for the brake components

I know the color of TKR5206 is different than his, but they are the same.

The biggest factor is the way a buggy needs to drive for me to be my fastest. I like stable corner entry under brakes, then a really quick snap around the apex and full throttle again. I don't do the ty tessman smooth round corners style.

Now the Tekno could do the snap just fine, but the full throttle thing straight after was all wrong. I could not get the correct on off power balance that I can with a Mugen or Xb8. The xray will snap perfectly off power then grab the track like a rabid pit bull when it's time to put the power down. After 3 days of testing back to back I found out it's down to a couple of things, the active caster on the front of the pillowball cars and lower rear roll centre adjustment. The two things Tekno don't have at this time.

Got my NB yesterday, spending a rained out Saturday building. Intrigued about running rear motor, but seems like no one is running it. Not worth it?

I have tried both extensively. In all conditions front motor has been faster.

The NB48 doesn't suffer from poor rear grip like some other kits out there, so typically it isn't necessary to move into a rear position. I've tried both and prefer forward as well.

Forward all the way. It's a major advantage in corner speed.

I ran rear motor for a while and it was good. The issue I ran into was that it would over rotate with the extra weight in the back. Now I strictly run the motor forward and corner exits seem more stable.

While I can see a possible EB48.3 and NB48.2 with a number of revised and upgraded parts, I can't see logic around a whole new vehicle at this point.
