Tekno NB48

I didn't like the notchy feel when spinning my wheels by hand with brakes engaged
I've only got 2 races on mine, but it's good so far. Hideous body n all....
He was just referring to me jumping brands frequently. Nothing ill about Tekno

That said, its my understanding that Kyosho brakes work if you want to spend $200 and also mugen pads which you glue to the stock pads after removing the brake material or some guys really like the alternative Tekno option which is the carbon rotor w metal pads.

The notchy feel is just how 1/8 mechanical brakes are when you turn them by hand, I've never had a buggy that felt different. And he is right, the body is hands down the ugliest body to ever grace a buggy!

Pipe hanger that I had ordered still hadnt made it so I grabbed an Ofna of similar design at the local track I was breaking the engine in at yesterday. That sucker was hard to bend! Was really surprised by how much stiffer it was than the stock hanger. Works great though and was super long so you can do anything you need with it (I cut off about an inch!).

Was down at the track breaking in the engine on Wednesday and started tear down and prep for the last round of JBRL yesterday and found this. Didnt have any big tumbles since I was running really rich and slow so I suspect it had actually cracked the last time I was out and came apart at the end of the day, Wednesday. Could see that I had a lot of extra camber when I came off the track from the last tank but figured I had bent a turnbuckle when I clipped a pipe. Hingepins and turnbuckles were in perfect shape, not a mark on them somehow. Need new diff case and the new pivot block and of course, no shops had one in the area (a few shops stock the SC parts but nothing for buggy).
The Tekno will sit on the shelf this weekend (and maybe far longer) while I finish up the build on an MBX7R I started yesterday. Always sucks going into a race with a brand new car but I wanted to find something with better parts support for the time being and there are tons of Mugens out here.
I had just sprayed down the front bulkhead with Trackpower, it isnt bleeding (on the outside anyways
).

On a positive note, I ran into a younger driver by the name of Rudy (team driver) and his father, John last night. They had a used pivot block they were willing to give me but no diff cases unfortunately. They were happy to help out and man, that kid is fast (15 I believe)! I helped them out with the tuning of their engine as it was super lean and we talked for much of the evening (I was building the new buggy at the track).
