agreed. they will definitely have a new version at some point but its still a very new platform and it works really well right out of the box so I wouldnt expect anything until at least late next year.

Although the steel center drive shafts work fine, the aluminum center drive shafts are lighter and thus have less rotating mass.

I prefer the aluminum as well, only problem is if they get bent, not easy to bend back although this only happened to me once when I was running rear motor with only one rear brace

I think by adding Lutz to the team, you will now see more updates to the car to bring it to that "World Class" level. Theres always something you can change. The way Ive seen it, Tekno is about revolution just as much as its about evolution.

The tekno aluminum drive shafts are hollow tubes, once they are bent, its very difficult to get them straight again without weakening the metal and most of the time if they do bend they krimp. Do you have an NB48?

I've been hesitant to try the aluminum shafts because I bent a rear center a while back (very large jump that was tough not to case). I had no idea they were tubular vice solid.

no .. but JQ has the same issue (4 mm chassis made flexy) at moments and I bend an alu one
I knocked it straight with a small hammer and checked after each trial it was straight, rolling it on a flat hard surface, till it was almost perfect
if you are in a hurry, a few hits with a rubber hammer will do the trick too
.. now it may be weaker after that, hollow.. I don't think so, seems hot making such a small beam hollow

the shaft bends, when you fall on the front of the car and all the weight of the rear, slams onto the chassisplate
and in that case, it will bend alu or steel.. and the action will also hit the outdrive/bearings and brace in the bulkhead

The aluminum shafts are very easy to straighten out with a small arbor press. Hard to straighten out with the old brass hammer method.

You didnt use any of the spacers under the diff housing correct?
New bell and new bearings. As for spacers no I haven't. I shim my clutch to have no play and spin 100% free. thanks so much for your help. I will let everyone know of my findings soon

No play ends up mowing through bearings at an accelerated rate, it needs to have some.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I added the entire line of Tekno cars to the Dialed Setups site yesterday. Check'em out and let me know what you think.

Hey guys I'm looking into getting a nb48 for this next season and was wondering what is needed out of the box? Springs? Pistons? Any durability issues? I'm about 1/4 of the way through this thread now...

Actually, they are solid. We only run the aluminum version at this time. The steel is great too, but the aluminum works just as good, only lighter.
